PROINO BREAKFAST & LUNCH — Restaurant in Largo

It’s very unfortunate to be writing this review as we did really like this restaurant but the past two experiences have been worse and then worse. This mornings breakfast with all our family was supposed to be a celebration of a finished baseball season with our two boys. After being seated quickly we got our drink order taken quickly but then that’s when the mess started happening. The server seemed annoyed and to be frank rude to our family. When people ask questions (never being there before) they were met with sarcastic answers. Whenever we would ask for anything whether a drink or a straw we got the huffs and puffs and then the rolling of the eyes was great too.

When the food began to come out everything looked great. (It always does , their portions are great and are very well plated). But my steak (requested medium) was cooked to well done and extremely tough to even cut. I ask the waitress if she would please ask the kitchen to remake another. She seemed very confused and even ask me to repeat myself 3x. I told her I ask for medium and this was cooked well done. I even stated “if this is the closest the kitchen can get that’s fine I’ll keep it and eat it” , where I was met with no no. We will get another one.

As she walks away she is talking under her breath loud enough for the end of our table (my father in law and brother in law) along with the other table seated heard her rambling on about she (me the customer) doesn’t know what medium is etc. She then returns and says the kitchen is confused on what you want. I stated medium again. And she walked back inside.

The rest of the family begins to eat their meals by which 3 were missing items or incorrectly topped off (creams, etc). Refills were far in between and we had to consistently ask over and over again. My mother in law received her pancakes for her meal when we requested the check.

I Finally get my steak and it is RAW. Like maybe 1 min on the grill. I literally boxed up my steak (not taking one bite) and brought it home to cook. I was not compensated for the steak in anyway at all even after not eating a single bite of anything on the plate. The waitress even came and cleared the table of which had almost all nearly full plates because the food just wasn’t there today.

We get our bill and even though kids eat free on Saturday we were charged... (every single Saturday, we have been charged and had to request it to be taken off. Literally every time. So if you on Saturday make sure to look).

Throughout the meal we had questions from our family about why in the world we chose this place... and we really didn’t have an answer. Only stating it used to be really good food and customer service. We covered the check as we couldn’t let our family pay for that kind of service at our recommendation.

We will not be returning and unless they can get it together I won’t be recommending to...

I decided to go back to this place because I live in the area and I really wanted to get them a second chance. My friends, who also live in the area, had advised me not to go back. Because they also did not receive good service or good food at this location. But I said no I like giving them a second chance. My bad! My first visit was when they first took over this location. And even then they were under construction on the inside. I ignore that part as I sat down. Waitress brought me silverware that was not clean properly and a coffee cup that was chipped around the edges. When I brought this to her attention, she seem to be annoyed with me. So I just got up and left. So today I decided to go back and see if the experience would be much better. Honestly, it was worse, they’re still doing construction, which I understand. But it stunk on the inside like plaster or paint as the waitress approached me she laid a menu on my table and proceeded to walk away and mumble words to what I am guessing was asking me what drinks I wanted. I’m thinking to myself seriously you can’t look at me while you’re talking? Then I ask her if I can move somewhere else because of the smell. And she thought it was OK to argue with me that she didn’t smell anything and that they didn’t even started working yet. I asked her “you don’t smell that?” And she said no, I told her you must be custom to the smell then. All this time going back-and-forth about that discussion. The waitress should have honored my request to move me to a different table. It wasn’t until I started to get up and leave. She asked if I wanted to go to a different section. I told her no! I’m leaving. This place seems to have a difficult time and getting it right. There’s no consistency here it seems. I just went next-door to the waffle house where it is always consistent and the service is always good. It’s kind of sad that a waffle house has more business than this place ever does. Every time I drive pass Proino on MISSOURI AVE., they rarely have customers. Some of it may be due to the ongoing construction still. Or perhaps the service or food. I can’t say nothing about the food because I still have not had the opportunity or gotten that far with this restaurant to critique the food. I know they have other locations, so you would think at this point they would care about quality, cleanliness and service that should be the up most important. Happy to hear that some of you have had good experience here. I just haven’t gotten that lucky yet. That’s fine, there’s plenty other...

I had scrambled eggs, bacon home fry potatoes and toast. The portions were huge. It tasted outstandingly delicious. They greatly accommodated my special requests, for my food. Our waitress Kim was impeccably helpful, friendly, accurate with our order, and promptly ended to our every need. I suggest asking for Kim. The saying goes, you get what you pay for. If you want dirt cheap, go to a fastfood restaurant.

I have been ordering food to go because of my schedule and I get the same phenomenal service, as if I'm eating in.. Between Diane, Sarah, Shelby and Kim , the service team will oblige to your requests, issues, and organize your orders well. The Classic. Cheeseburger is astoundingly delicious, juicy, and full of flavor. I'm a burger connoisseur and this on the list, of the best. The best part is that you get a variety of 2 sides, with your burger. Their side salads, fresh fruits, and fries are all tasty sides. I had their Philly and it was well packed with meat and scrumptious from the first bite, to the last. We all make minor mistakes. But it's how the solution is handled, which is the most important. I had some missing items and immediately taken care of. The owner George is a very friendly hospitable guy who cares about his customers. Customer satisfaction is important here and that means a lot. A scrumptious menu of food, a spotless clean environment, and magnificently friendly staff is why I am a repeat customer. Since my first comment shove, myself and others with me have ordered another 8 or so times fir breakfast and lunch. I have to eat on the go and waiting time is minimal and quality at its best.
