My significant and I was out and about for a night out on the town and wanted to try out this restaurant because it was raved about by others who already have eaten there. We figured that the place was just a couple of doors down from a bar that we wanted to go to for karaoke and figured it would be just easy to have something to eat then go and enjoy a good adult beverage along with some good music.

Now for the REVIEW.

Upon walking through the doors, we were immediately greeted by the server named Kathy and right away she made the experience very welcoming. Once seated, she promptly took our drink orders and got it sent out in a very timely matter. After a few minutes of general chit-chatter with her, we were ready to place our dinner order. My significant inquired about the Chicken Paprika dish and she gave it a high recommendation thus placing an order for one. I ordered a very simple Ham and Cheese Omelette with a side order of bacon and sausage patties. After the orders were put in, Kathy introduced us to the cook who was on staff by the name of Adam. He presented himself as a friendly and also welcoming staff member and further added the whole welcoming experience.

The Presentation.

My significant’s Chicken Paprika was plated nicely and right out of the gate it looked very appetizing. My omelette was presented like any other omelette one would get from a typical diner. It was neat and it did not look like any of the cheese or diced ham was spilling out. The eggs were well and evenly cooked to exactly the way I like it and the bacon was crispy and not burned, again exactly the way I like it. My significant stated that the Chicken Paprika was delicious and had great flavour and seasoning to it.

The Establishment.

Upon walking through the doors, I immediately took notice that the place was very clean and looked like it is well kept. There was no dirt or any grime to speak of in site on the floor and including the baseboards. The tables and chairs were clean and looked like the place was just freshly opened up for the start of the day. The restaurant presents itself as a nice homey place with modern farmhouse style of decorations and the choice of colour pallet, giving the place a cosy atmosphere. Another plus to this restaurant, is that it is a 24-hour restaurant. Sadly, there are not too many of these kinds of restaurants here in Pinellas County.

Prices.

The menu prices are very reasonable and one would not have to worry about busting open the piggy bank here to have something decent along with great service. My significant and I spent about $35.00 including soft drinks.

The Recap.

Corner Skillet is a great restaurant to go out and enjoy a fast diner style bite to eat with great service to go with the welcoming and friendly environment. Added with a menu that is plentiful to satisfy many different tastes with it being affordable, the Corner Skillet comes highly recommended by myself and my significant.

Added Note: Thank you, Kathy and Adam, for a great first-time experience at the Corner Skillet. We will be making a return to this place in the...

I really really wanted to give this place a great review, and won't deny, the food (except for the home fries) is great. However, I ordered a side of bacon and as the server was turning the corner one slice of bacon fell off my plate, she tossed it either in the counter or God forbid, the trash, and just delivered our food as is, minus a slice of very dry yet expensive bacon. She didn't realize that I saw the bacon incident and when i asked if the side of bacon was 2 slices or 3, she said 3, and Said "you've got three there, right?" I replied, "Nope, just the two". She told the only other person in the building ,the cook, she needed a slice of bacon for us. 14 seconds later, she appeared with the same dry and cold piece of bacon she'd dropped off of my plate. I stilled tipped $10 cause by the looks of it, we were the only customers in some time, and she was nice, just so disappointed she didn't stick to her gut when she asked the cook for a new piece of bacon and not just throwing it back on the plate right then, I was very pleased until she ended up serving it to me anyway. I couldn't eat it because I couldn't confirm where it had fallen or where it had been tossed after bumping the stainless initially. I am certain she noticed that single slice of bacon, that I made a point to get, remained untouched, and knew why. Again, their food is good except the really thickly chuncked plain potatoes that they do not season or anything just deep fry and serve them undercooked, also left on plate. Their hash browns and French toast on the other hand are delish! I'm afraid due to food safety concerns, We will be visiting Country Skillet next time just down the road from this spot. Sorry to Corner Skillet, I always leave honest reviews, and was so hoping for a better outcome...

If you're looking for a cozy, local spot with delicious food and great service, The Corner Skillet in Largo, Florida is a must-visit. My family and I made the drive down from Tampa to enjoy the Christmas lights and decided to stop by here for breakfast-for-dinner afterward. From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home.

Jay, our server, was fantastic—informative, fast, and friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed with a smile. It was clear that he enjoyed his job, and his upbeat energy made the experience even better. Derek, the chef, truly knows what he’s doing in the kitchen. Each of our dishes was cooked to perfection, and we all agreed that the ingredients were fresh and the food was top-notch. Though we all ordered something different, it was clear that The Corner Skillet doesn't cut corners on quality.

The place itself is small but clean, with that charming, local diner vibe that makes you feel like you're getting a real, home-cooked meal. The food was so good that my son couldn’t stop talking about his pancakes—they were apparently the best he's had in a long time. He talked about them the entire drive back to Tampa!

While we don’t make it to Largo often, I can confidently say that we’ll be back. And considering how much my son raved about the pancakes, I think we’ll be making that trip sooner rather than later. Highly recommend The Corner Skillet for anyone in the area or...

My husband and I don't go out to eat a lot. I love to cook and he has his preference of a privately owned place in the case that it isn't an option. I looooove finding gems like this!! Note, the pictures already had bites taken out because I always forget to take them when they're perfectly presented. I, for one would like to see just how scrumptious something is on the inside after a bite. I come from a culinarily-centric family. I have had some of the most incredible delicacies, but food like this can't be topped. You can taste the love. Drew was super duper double awesome! Any request that he was able to accommodate was done so with a passion to try and make everything happen. To my men who made my food, y'all are what's up! My roast beef sammich was just lovely. Not dry, bread was nice and fluffy for its impending doom in all of my condiments. Hubs's eggs? His steak with said eggs? Cooking eggs is a real talent, actually. You think that you're getting eggs that are cooked properly, but you're wrong. The finesse that it takes to cook them and know about the continuing cooking process in order to get the eggs at the perfect temperature when it gets to the table is an artform. These guys get it.

UPDATE: Gone is the hotdog with amazing chili and their homemade daily specials of a year ago that were absolutely all so divine and made with love. Now it's more of a standard greasy spoon diner affair. The food is still decent and breakfast is 2/3 of the menu. 24/7 hours still make this a good late night or early morning option. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Wow. Great find. 24/7 greasy spoon diner that makes much of their food from scratch. This is not just your average morning breakfast spot or your late night crave dive, this is a diner you can dine at for any meal at any time and leave satisfied. Quality food made with love. Greats prices. And terrific service from all the staff. The hotdog comes on a quality split roll and the chili on the dog is freshly made.,.. a flavorful experience. The burger rivals any burger in all of Pinellas County (go with provolone). And the daily specials of German food are terrific. Eeyore gives 5 tail wags as this is the best 24/7 spot in all of Tampa Bay! Give this place a try. You'll certainly add it to your regular rotation.

I ordered the biscuits and gravy, home fries, and potato salad while i was working over at the laundry mat. The waitress brought my food to me so hot it was like it was cooked right there while i was sitting and waiting. It was amazing! The home fries were off the chain i will for sure order those again and the potato salad was awesome as well. My fiance slammed the biscuits and gravy once i got home. Even reheated he said it was the best hes had in a long time. I will for sure be having my "dinner" while working every weekend from here! So glad you got this place open Lynne! Amazing food very fair pricing with large portions and your staff is kind and welcoming! Edit to original review: tonights ordered items fried pickles, potato salad, and the home fries again with onions and peppers added this time. I wasnt aware i could get those added the first time i ordered them. Still ALOT of food for a cheap price and delicious!
