ME O MY!!! Incredible! Don't pass thru or stay in Las Cruces without making this one of the places you choose to dine. While there are a lot of breakfast choices in Las Cruces, this one eeks above the rest in all respects: coffee house, bakery, restaurant. The food and the service were extraordinary! First, the place was crowded at our 1ish pm arrival and we waited approximately 15 minutes for a table. It went by quickly as we surveyed their tantalizing delicacies in their bakery display case and purchased a blueberry cheesecake, a carrot cake cupcake and a few cream puffs. Upon being seated, we were greeted by Andrea whom excelled in customer service and made us feel welcomed, despite it being within an hour their closing time. My husband enjoyed a cup of black coffee which he said was a very tasty brew and I ordered the cold Dalgona coffee which is brewed with cinnamon and raw sugar, topped w/milk and poured over ice. It was spot on for the blustery summer day already exceeding 100 degrees. As for entrees, we both opted for brunch and split the ultimate breakfast sandwich with juicy fried chicken, perfectly cooked egg, crispy unctuous bacon, cheese, and sausage gravy piled on a fluffy homemade biscuit with a side of fresh cut potatoes. It was perfect on every level! We also ordered the Lemon Curd Blintzes to finish off our Sammy w/a bit of decadent, not too sweet crepes filled with a light, airy whipped ricotta, drizzled with an amazing lemon curd with a side of blueberry compote. We personally opted for the crepes sans compete as it just skewed the focus of the flavors from the subtle and lovely lemon curd/ricotta crepe. In my POV, perhaps the simplicity of a few fresh blueberries sprinkled on top would have detracted less than the compote but trust me this is just a personal tweaking preference as it is beyond delicious either way! Bottom line, this team works hard to hit on every level, from the kitchen to the floor, you will be rewarded with not only an exceptional, well priced meal but a feast for the eyes with local artwork displayed on their walls. It was our pleasure...
Read moreI ordered a simple cake for my sister a 6" german chocolate and 2. $0.75 cream puffs cost me $35.23 (w/ current NM tax, shouldve been $33.67) The website still states the cake I got costs $25. (Changed 7/15/24 to reflect new price of $30) With tax I calculated based on current tax amount that shouldve been a total of $27.93. I had been there once before and got two pieces of quiche and two mini cheesecakes. $35.68. Now the cheesecake and the creampuffs were EXCELLENT. the quiche was adequate but I have had better. This one was quite a bit heavier and denser than I am used to. Though I loved the sun dried tomatoes, couldve been seasoned better. UPDATE: My bank for some UNKNOWN reason placed a hold for a larger amount on my card. Almost an extra $14 but the charge went thru for the amount on my receipt. The cake was PHENOMINAL! sooo dense and rich. THIS is EXACTLY the way German chocolate is supposed to be! All other shops are just giving you a boxed chocolate cake with coconut frosting people! It was a superior and decadent cake. I still wish I had gotten the quoted price that up until today (2-4 days later) was $25 and not $30. Tho I will admit the cake exceeded expectations. (I just didnt feel like baking lol). Sibling and I couldnt even manage to go to birthday dinner because 1 piece of cake in the afternoon filled us to the brim. Whomever is doing the actual baking is a true master. The cooking is so so...but the...
Read moreWe walked into the restaurant around noon and this was our first time going. The restaurant was completely packed and we sat down and waited to be seated. We haven’t been here before and normally if walk in someone greets you right away. This was not the case. All we got were rude looks from the employees behind the dessert counter. After waiting for a little while my mom decided to go and ask to see how long it would be, after she left to go ask that’s only I finally came and got my name and put it on the list. While my mom was talking to the employee about how long it it takes she was being extremely rude and unpleasant. She asked her If she would be able to tell her how long the wait is and she replied rudely idk. Is your name on the list. My mom said I don’t know where is the list because this is our first time going and she just repeated the question is your name on the list and my mom said again I don’t know . After that she said I’ll put your name on the list what’s your name, she got my moms name she was rude and walked away and said nothing after that. We decide that it was in our best interest to leave because the employees here were rude and were simply not gonna be interested in taking care of us today. We probably won’t be going back seeing as this is our first experience and it was not good. We were really disappointed and wanted...
