Came here with a group for breakfast. Everything was fine and I really want to thank the front of house staff for doing their best. The biggest issue was what we came for: the food. I also have some gripes with the prices too, but that's on a management/business level. I'll break it all down. As far as service goes, they were super pleasant and very friendly. Someone was training and the waitress/trainer was trying hard to make up for them just learning. The only negative was they kept forgetting things or getting shorted on things. Like getting a tea kettle that was half full so only getting a cup and a half out of it. They still offered to refill coffee and tea, so it ended up okay, just the inconvenience of waiting for them to come back once you realized you were empty and waiting another 3-4 minutes to get a refill. The waitress/trainer kind of took over at one point and did offer to get everything, so good on her. We tried cleaning up at the end to make bussing easier (the actual easier. Not the 'bless your heart' easier where they glob everything together and make it a nightmare for them by accident). As for the food, I really like Eggs Benedict, but this unfortunately didn't deliver. I had the Pablano and it was so tasteless, the thing I tastes the most was the Chalula and the pepper I had to put on it for flavor. The shredded beef was a bit dry and could have been old or overcooked. But it just had nothing to it. Edible, not really enjoyable. Also, you're in the middle of the Mesilla Valley serving Pablano and no Hatch Chile option? Seems like a missed opportunity. The ham, waffles, and chicken were all overcooked as well. In fact, if you can cut open a chicken tender and the meat is separated from the fried breading inside, its overcooked. On pricing, I'll start out by saying it really stinks the price of drinks can slide up over $3.50 and offer no free refills. Also, there's almost no menu item under $10, save for the kids menu, and its on the high end. You could also get a short stack of pancakes only for $7.99, but adding anything to it takes it up over 10. On the atmosphere, the restaurant has the dividers up on the booths still, and most of them are tattered and leaning, which gives it a really run down vibe, even if its clean and well kept. Also, almost every condiment is kept in the back, so the poor wait staff has to make more runs to get it. Lastly, they put a couple of tables together for us to sit, but one had this awkward extension that was clearly aged or broken because it wouldn't sit flat. We ended up having this little valley in the middle of our set up we couldn't use because everything would slide on it, lol. Good part of town right near the interstate and close to NMSU. Great location. Just some basics to deliver on. I want to, again, thank our wait staff for being so kind and pleasant. We didn't feel ignored or unwanted and she was asking what we needed. Much appreciated. Hopefully a review like this helps the restaurant make the necessary tweeks it needs to be a 5-star location.

I prefer not to go to businesses on Holidays but this Christmas our circumstances called for breakfast out & I was beyond pleased with this IHop. Host immediately greeted us & sat us with a welcoming & enthusiastic greet. Our waitress appeared to be serving at least 3 to 4 other tables at the same time she was working with us however we were serviced promptly, politely, kindly, efficiently & our waitress truly didn't miss a beat. Our drinks stayed filled & the food was delicious! Overall you could really tell the staff was a team & their good spirits was honestly exactly what my family needed this holiday morning. I know I've attended in the past on my daughter's birthday & had a similar experience but today being a holiday I realize staff could have been home with their families but they showed up for work & provided truly a beautiful Christmas Morning to me & mine. We will always come back.

Great food and great service are what you except, and is what you have always gotten... However, the food has gone downhill. I got cold mushrooms with my surloin tip order, my wife got half raw waffles with her chicken and waffles, the side of hash browns was burnt and my son got chocolate chip pancakes instead of his chocolate chocolate chip pancakes. Once this was brought to the attention of the staff we were still given a bill of $45.76 with no adjustment. I didn't ask for another plate of anything, just to make them aware, but some reduction of my bill should have been done without asking, the manager stopped by once he was aware and still nothing was adjusted. This is absolutely disappointing.

The food is what it is, usually generally decent although with the new prices it may be pushing it. We stopped in for dinner yesterday the food was ok, except for our hash browns which were un-edible, hard, greasy and dry (not sure how that can happen and so rubbery, I gave up after one bite.

But... the real issue was that we ordered 2 kids meals off the "special" themed menu, Pancake jr Combos, with the big bubble next to it with the "kids eat free promotion". However when we got the check, they had charged us for the kids meals and not only that they charged us adult meal prices, When we asked our waiter about it, he said the promotion wasn't for adult combos... we said we order 2 kids combos and he told us no the special menu was for adults. We asked him to bring it over and showed him (again by pointing, which I had also done originally when we ordered) the exact combo and the promotion bubble next to it that we had ordered. Well, he said he rung it in as the adult combo listed elsewhere on the same menu. He said he couldn't change it because the system was locked. But that the manager would offer us 20% of the combo meals in question. (Not 20% in general... just for the kids/now adult combos) At almost $15.00 a combo versus the Free Kids meal we ordered we said no to the 20% off the combos in question. He then came back and said the only thing the manager would do would be to remove one of the adult meals my husband and I have ordered... not the most expensive one, but a meal to "offset" the mistake he made and the price of 2 extra adult meals.

So basically, the waiter made a mistake, yes this happens, but it was his mistake and the manager should have comped those meals and given us the kids promotion as we had ordered it. If you are a company that won't stand by your own employee's mistake and correct it... then I won't be back, ever. Food is too overpriced now for just being decent and knowing I might get charged for things I didn't order or mistakes made by the employees is too much.

Oh also, if you want the "kids eat free" make sure you mention it, because otherwise they don't automatically honor the promotion and will charge you for the kids meals too. Another waiter told us, they don't take it off unless you ask, because some customers don't mind paying. Scummy business practices, that I...

Went 2 this Ihop last night w/ the family &it was the 1st time us going. Worst service ever. We were rushed by the waitress 2 pay our bill, cause she was leaving. & i think that was so disrespectful on her part. on top of that we were charged for the wrong thing 2. We had 2 stop the waitress 2 ask for more coffee, creamer cause she never asked if we neede anything. Darlene needs to be retrained & if she knows that she was going to be leaving soon she shouldnt have helped us. After been told if we could pay our check cause her shift had finished I even asked if some1 else was going to be helping us after she left. & she said yes. Cause we still wanted more coffee. B4 we payeed our coffee never arrived; ( then after 10min i re asked her for more coffee & she said "O i forgot you had asked for more coffee. its going to take a while cause a fresh pot is bearly being made" & i said k. & that was our last pot she brought. & she picked up her tip & she disappeared. Im so disappointed on the attendance of the rest of the ihop employees cause they saw us & we were never asked if we needed anything, cause we were still there an hr 1/2 there after. Not till i got a head ache i went outside. i asked 3 employees outside smoking & i asked who the manager is. & she was outside. i told her what had happen & to me she didnt seem to care. ive voiced half of my concers &i am now waitting for a...
