I feel like I am pretty savvy in booking last minute hotels on the road, and am rarely surprised at what I end up with. I searched hotel tonight and cross check it with the hotel website, look at reviews and pictures, and make sure dogs are allowed. I am traveling with my disabled sister and a small dog (who is registered as her ESA). On hotel tonight, this hotel is listed as pets allowed, no fee. It’s a little more pricey than I usually get since we are just crashing for the night, but since we would get in at 7, I picked a nicer looking place with a pool. Since hotel tonight doesn’t let you pick your room (we need two beds), I went straight to the site and paid more to be able to choose. When we arrived, we found the lobby to be really nice. There was a sign posted about a $40 pet fee. I told the desk attendant that there was nothing about a pet fee online and she said there were no exceptions. I asked if I could cancel, and she said she would charge a fee to my card to cancel. I decided to bite the bullet and pay $160 for a room we would be in for 12 hours. When we got to our room (which smelled like fast food- wasn’t anything fancy- clearly they spent all the money on the lobby) we found there was only one towel, and the WiFi is an unsecured network that doesn’t work very well. I went to get more towels and requested the desk attendant show me where online the pet policy is, and it took her a while but she found it. It said ADA dogs are an exception and I asked why our dog didn’t count. She pretty much told me people lie and she can’t ask for proof, so we are just outta luck. I can understand deposits… that makes sense. But why a fee you can’t get back, that is not listed? I got back to the room and we immediately all started getting really itchy after using towels. I got hives on my neck and my sister got it on her arms and legs. We all took Benadryl and tried to go to bed. There was a broken strobing light outside our window and the road traffic is pretty loud. No free breakfast, just coffee. The astroturf in the parking lot is full of dog poop. Wondering what the non refundable pet fee is for. Definitely not for cleaning. There is a huge fridge, but it’s loud. Two of the three lights just didn’t work, and the tub/shower and sink don’t drain. So gross taking a shower and having water pool up. Oh and the pool shuts at 8. Although we asked about the pool around 7:15, she said it was closed. Long story but hoping others avoid. I feel like we really just got duped by a nice lobby. You can spend over $100 on a room at a place that is actually nice. There are no perks to staying here, not the area (there is only fast food, they advertise a restaurant on site but it’s closed Sundays, and there was what I think was a hotel staff member urinating on the wall in the parking lot when I went to grab my bag from the truck), the stinky hallway and room or the staff, no pool, not even a water station. There is a restaurant that serves breakfast you have to pay for, no grab and go continental. Spend your money somewhere that cares about their...
Read moreStill grossly Dirty after 2 hours of cleaning… We arrived to the city (LC) a little early, stopped by to ask about early check in at around 12:30pm (regular check-in time being 3pm) and the very petite lady was very nice and beginning to speak when the other worker jumped in and cut her off, saying “No they aren’t done cleaning rooms yet, but you can check back at 2pm”. I very politely said “Ok Thank You, I’ll swing back by in around then”. She did soften her tone a bit and said “Ok, Thank you”, and the nicer (original) lady apologized for the wait as I left. We returned at about 2pm and caught the front desk staff in a shift change, and asked if the room was ready as anticipated, to be able to check in early. The reply was to “give them about 30 minutes, they are cleaning it right now”.. I replied Ok thank you, and left again.. I then returned at about 2:40pm, AGAIN I’m told the room is still not clean yet give us 15 more minutes (2:55 by that math, a whopping 5 min early check in?) Ok, so I went out and waited until 3pm (regular check in time). When back inside and was able to check in now, expecting the room to be quite impressively clean right? Wrong, it was disgustingly filthy (see photos). Hair and clipped toenails everywhere, a lot of spilled and dried coffee under and around microwave, coffee machine was so gross I didn’t touch it as it had something that looked like it was growing out the side. The AC unit was filthy. Mens beard clippings on bathroom sink. Long black hair FOLDED into “clean” towel. Broken Phone that you can see the inner workings of. Past guests lighter still on balcony. Stains on the curtains that looked like Blood and semen splatter. I telling you GROSS… the ONLY thing that seemed to have been “cleaned” was fresh bed linens (God I hope), that did NOT include a comforter on either bed. Both beds were sheet/sheet/thin blanket/sheet, that’s it, (see pics). If it wasn’t for the towns hotels being sold out for the night I promise we would have left, we almost slept in the car instead. The only salvation was the assumed clean bed linens and comfortable bed… The hotel does have a really neat aesthetic and could be really nice, but the room we got was a $49.99 room at BEST not the $149 we paid!! And the worst part was that they apparently waited to clean our room until VERY last as it was BARELY done in time for regular check-in after requesting early Checkin 2+ hours before hand… if the room had just been clean, I’d have No Complaint, as early check in is Not guaranteed and I understand that. But having staff know we are needing/wanting to check in early and they CLEARLY were NOT cleaning the room, it feels intentional that they made us wait until 3pm regular check in time… Disgusting, DO NOT RECOMMEND! Stay anywhere else! Looks like it’s not going to let me add pictures, I’ll continue to try here and other places. Ppl need to see these pics before...
Read moreIf I could rate 0 stars I WOULD! On 04/10 - 04/14 , I rented a vehicle located inside the Ramada, leaving my only personal vehicle in the HERTZ area parking lot. On Monday 04/14 I returned at around 4:45 pm to find that MY PERSONAL car was stolen! The driver side window was completely shattered and nothing was left behind but the shattered glass. I immediately went into the Hertz/Ramada building to ask for camera footage from the Ramada staff since Hertz was closed. There are cameras pointing to the parking lot and parking space where I had left my vehicle, the rude bald old man with glasses did not care nor consider what was going on and responded "they don't work." I called LCPD and they immediately showed up to take a police report, this officer also noticed the camera and proceeded to go ask the same rude employee for access to which he also responded "they don't work". On 04/15, I returned the vehicle to Hertz and notified them what happen and both employees just stared at me like it was not their problem! The manager proceeded to say that Ramada is in charge of the parking lot even though I DID NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! Neither businesses wanted to take accountability! No where did I sign with Hertz stating they were not responsible for stolen property while using their services! When I mentioned this to the manager all he said was "Yes we do, Ramada has a sign" to which I responded "I DID NOT USE RAMADAS BUSINESS so how would I have known that!". Mind you this sign he speaks of is no where visible and I still was not able to see it where the Hertz rental cars are nor where customers using these rentals park! I'd highly recommend staying away from both businesses unless they are your only option. They have cameras that DO NOT WORK nor do they have security in case of a real emergency. All employees OBVIOUSLY do not care! Who knows how long the glass was out there and not one employee from that whole building thought to think , maybe this is one of our customers. They sure were quick to clean it up though! I'm beyond upset and I hope this helps anyone trying to rent there or stay at the Ramada. These employees DO NOT care unless it happens to them. I'd also like to mention, the manager saying that he has been there 15 years and this never happened, but they were also never prepared. There's a blue bronco out there that has been there since Monday or longer , with its back window completely out and it has been untouched! Tell me how observant these employees are. None of this phases either companies and their employees until it happens to them. STAY...
