I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and amazing care that Mesilla Valley Hospice provided to my mother. Both the at-home and on-site care could not have been better. They have a full team assigned to each case which includes not only the medical care side but the family and mental health side as well. Each team member is fully aware of the needs of both the patient and family and they work together to make sure that this stage of life is as comfortable and stress free as is humanly possible. When you first engage their services they are quick to all work together to assess the specific needs and establish a plan tailored for the patient and family. My mother was with them for almost a year both in and out of facility care and they were with her and my family every single step of the way. They are incredibly responsive and bring absolute human caring into the forefront of every case. I honestly was not even aware that it was possible today to have such amazing care from the first person you meet to the full team behind the scenes that you donāt. Moreover, this includes even the people they contract like HME Specialists who are their vendors for medical equipment. Amazing people that I cannot thank enough. As far as Iām concerned there is no other place I could even consider recommending in this state or any other for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have read all of the previous reviews. People deal with grief in different stages. Clearly, some reviews came from that anger stage of grief. I respect that. However, my experience couldn't be better. My grandfather died there two weeks ago, after 6 months of pain. My grandmother and I wish we had brought him there sooner. When we moved my grandfather from the hospital to Mesilla Valley hospice, he was still talking. On the night before he passed, his last words to us were, "I feel like royalty, here". My "Grandpy" had been in ICU at a regular hospital for days. As soon as we moved him into Mesilla Valley Hospice, his nurse came to us and explained that the first thing she does (especially coming out of a hospital), is give him a good bath from head to toe. They even shaved his face and brushed his teeth, all while he was sleeping. Ginny was our favorite nurse. She made us feel like we were leaving him with a family member. We chose the MVH Chaplin, Jeff, to do Grandpa's service. We chose songs for the service and every song, he found a way to incorporate some of the lyrics into his sermon. He is truly a humble yet amazing servant of The Lord. We couldn't have wished for a better, all-around experience. I am only 41 but when I go, I hope it's at MVH. They made a difficult experience, beautiful....
