Sushi Freak LC — Restaurant in Las Cruces

After relocating from Los Angeles to West Texas, I was beginning to think I'd never find sushi that matched the quality and flavor of my favorite spots back home. That is, until I discovered Sushi Freak in Las Cruces.

The fried calamari at Sushi Freak is a game-changer. Awesome batter and perfectly crispy. It went perfectly with the Crunch roll. It is so good.

I had some Hawaiian soda to go with it. Sushi Freak offers a variety of unique drinks that make the food taste even better.

The staff at Sushi Freak made my first visit memorable. Max, in particular, was helpful, answering all my questions.

Eaters beware, this place got me food poisoning!!! Worst $60 I have spent. Clearly hygiene is an issue and this place is not sanitary enough to deal in raw food.

The rolls are more expensive than fine dining Japanese restaurants and not a fraction of the taste or quality. The fish pieces are so tiny you can barely see them, let alone taste them (even in the “double tuna” roll). They charge $4 a person for miso soup, when the industry standard is to offer it complimentary. Soup came long after all sushi already been eaten. Also bought fountain soda and the soda machine didn’t even work.

just left sushi freak and my experience was amazing. my car decided to die on the way in and when i asked the 3 people working (2 girls and 1 guy) if they possibly had jumper cables, the care and concern that they showed me was unbelievable. the guy working helped me jump my car and made sure i was good to go before i left and the girls even offered to walk my order out for me so i wouldn’t have to risk my car dying again. i ended up going back in just to pay and pick up the order and they were so nice and friendly and told me to come back in if anything else happened. they were honestly probably some of the nicest people i’ve encountered in a customer service job in a long long time. i wish i knew their names but thank you guys so much for your help. 10/10...
