My family visited Chilitos at Foothills on the 18th of September. First, we have always loved Chilitos and the service has always been excellent. This time....not so much. Our server was Blake, she was so concerned about socializing with her friends that her tables were an afterthought. She rarely came to the table and only because her friends were right next to us. There was hair in our chips when I told her, she all but dismissed it. She did not put our appetizer in and when I told her forget about it because our food came she said she would take it off the ticket. She did not. When I asked to speak to a manager or how to contact them another server (Daniel) came to the table and said he was the manager and he was sorry but he would tell the owners. My wife and I have both worked in the food industry so we knew what they were doing. I gave my number to the girl at the front to please have the real manager or owner call me. I know that employees are hard to come by right now but you shouldn't have to sacrifice customer satisfaction for shift coverage. UPDATE: I spoke with the actual manager Melissa, she heard me out and apologized on behalf of her employees. She offered to send me a gift card and I told her it was not necessary but she asked for my address and I received it. Not sure if we will go back for a while because I would not want the same servers, but we may just...

This used to be one of our lunch go to restaurants but after today's visit I don't think we'll be returning. My daughter ordered the nachos and asked for no meat, she's vegetarian. My partner and I ordered the combination plate with enchiladas and a ground beef taco. When the food arrived the nachos had ground beef and the tacos were filled with some kind of gray, mystery meat. It could have been pork or fish or chicken, we couldn't tell. It was some time before the waitress came back to check on us. When she did I asked if we could get the ground beef tacos that were supposed to come with the plate. She said she would put the order in and bring them out. We waited for about 20 minutes and she never returned. I finally asked someone else for the check. The waitress returned with the check, my daughter asked her if the tacos were ready and she said, oh that's right you wanted a side of tacos. No, we didn't want a side of tacos we wanted the ground beef tacos that were supposed to come with the meals we ordered. Despite that, the waitress was friendly and I guess she tried her best. The food isn't as good as it used to be and the service has gone...

I ordered the Carne Asada smothered burrito for dinner tonight. The food quality was okay and I think it’s overpriced for the amount of food we got. Details in the rant below… I’m only basing this on our two take out experiences so I’m not sure about the service. This is the second time ordering from Chilitos and probably the last one. I was fooled again by the many good reviews but the food was mediocre again and the portions were little for the price. The carne asada burrito is supposed to have fresh onions and cilantro, there was no cilantro and very little onions if any. The meat was dry and over cooked and it was just that meat inside the burrito. The refried beans had not the smallest grain of salt in them. They were completely bland and saltless. The burrito alone (without smothering) with a tiny bit of lettuce and tomatoes was $12 Smothering with green chile was $2?! Refried beans and rice (not a huge amount) was $3 The total came up to $17 for what you see in the photo. I haven’t had Mexican food with such small portions for this price. Overall, the food from here was unfortunately...

Been going to Chilitos for years and it's been pretty good, last night was a huge disappointment. Chips were stale and hard, salsa was good though, got a replacement batch which were a little better and finished them before our drink order was even taken. Drink order took 15 minutes after that. Food took longer than normal even though there were more empty tables than occupied ones. Food was pretty good as usual and tried their sopapillas which were really good. Maybe last night was an off-night but we won't be back for awhile. Server seemed to disappear for long periods of time, we had to ask another server to track her down to get our bill. Update : This last visit was very disappointing, returned the margarita, Chimichanga beef was dry and over cooked and tortilla was chewy, wife's Tortilla salad bowl was also chewy. Probably done with this place.

Another must hit when we visit. The flavors are wonderful and we left stuffed! We grazed in their chips and salsa and ordered some guacamole. Their salsa has the best flavor--it's absolutely addicting. And the guac was smooth and delicious with some lettuce chunks and fresh white onion strings if you wanted a little texture. My son and I get their sopapilla compuesta (Christmas). That meal is huge! And the meat just melts in your mouth. My wife goes for their green enchiladas (stacked). She had to also get sour cream because their green was a little hot for her. Still tasty and she still loves it. My in-laws go for their red enchiladas (stacked) with an egg on top. They like them here the best in the valley. And, of course, you have to finish the meal with an order of sopapillas (cinnamon sugar or plain). Absolutely delicious!
