El Sombrero Express — Restaurant in Las Cruces

This express restaurant is very hit or miss. During the pandemic I have ordered from here a lot because it is in a convenient location, is reasonably priced, and has a good carside takeout system. However, there is zero consistency in the food. I keep ordering because when my order is correct, the food is usually really good. However, half the time my order isn’t correct (using the restaurant’s app). I specifically ordered a no-meat enchilada and it came just stuffed to the brim with random shredded beef. Another time I ordered a ground beef taco and again I instead got random shredded beef that I didn’t order. Then today I ordered the quesadilla chica which is normally good, but today it was just so overflowing with excess cheese that I couldn’t even tell where some of the separate slices were. It was disgusting and I only ate half. I think I will have to stop ordering from this place because it’s such a gamble on whether my order will be right and whether what I order will be the same as what it was the last time I got it. Please work on your quality...

Today 6-18-24 we went for our order around 6:15pm. When we left my wife got a bank notification that she was charged twice. When she called back, she explained the situation and the jerk on the phone was being a total P.O.S. My wife told him to calm down as he was totally unprofessional. She asked to talk to a manager and he then says "I am the manager ". He finally did something right and put someone on the phone with some decency. The lady explained the double charge and how it should clear up once it posts on their end. Note to the "manager" , put your pride aside and remember your not always right. Your in the customer service business and you should treat people calmly and respectfully. Lastly, as the saying goes "If you can't take the heat, get out kitchen". I'm sure a furniture store will hire you as a sign...

The food was disgusting! Despite the fact that I was the only one there I still had to wait an exorbitant amount of time for my order, it was cold and dripping with grease, inedible to say the least! The help did put on a good show dancing and singing to music that was way to loud. Perhaps if they would have put as much effort into getting my order to me instead of fooling around it wouldn't have been cold. On a positive note the guy behind the counter did offer to remake my order however I didn't feel like waiting. Also, the guacamole was good, the chips suck!

Suffice to say I will never return, $16 dollars for 3 tacos and guacamole that I had to toss is not...
