I was out running errands when my wife texted me that she wanted Taco Bell. I can’t eat Taco Bell myself, something about the cooking oil they use makes me sick every time I try their food… At any rate I thought a quick trip through the drive thru and I’d be on my way. Well that wasn’t going to happen as there were seven vehicles ahead of me but only a couple of cars in the parking lot so I elected to go inside and order BIG MISTAKE… Entering the store I see several people milling around the counter apparently waiting for their orders. I approached the register to order but no one would acknowledge my presence which was kind of annoying. I asked loud enough that several employees behind the counter could hear me that I’d like to place an order. The response was dumbfounding, “We’re not allowed to take your order, you have to order from that kiosk behind you”. Ok, so the drive thru was backed up till next Tuesday, there were a half dozen people waiting patiently for their orders and I was directed to order on a touch screen that I discovered is not user friendly… Taco Bell must be having financial difficulties if they can’t even hire competent people to take orders but instead offload that job to the customer. I don’t know what they’d do if I wanted to pay in cash and had change due. Oh wait todays younger generations don’t know how to make change… What would a homeless person do as most likely their only option to purchase would be with the use of old fashioned cash. Unless they are living in their vehicle and possibly had a debit card they’re out of luck. But perhaps this is the real reason behind the change at Taco Bell. In any case I’ll never eat at a Taco Bell again… Just wait, perhaps in the future you’ll have to place the order on the kiosk, then cook your own meal, package it up and then pay for the experience. Read morePretty reliable and consistent. They usually get the order correct nine out of ten times...which is fantastic for Las Cruces. Taco Bell is not one of my favorite places to eat, but I can definitely appreciate the hot food that is always the same every time you order it. You know exactly what you are going to get when you order it. I love the slushes that they have. Right now they have a mango whip freeze that is really good, and I also liked the pineapple one that they had. The dragon fruit tea was pretty odd though...not my cup of tea! Taco Bell works great when you are in a hurry and need to grab something really fast. We always order ahead on the app too so we don't have to wait too long. Read moreI placed an order in the drive thru for the number 12 or the Catina Crispy Burrito box/meal. It comes with a Catina chicken double burrito, crispy taco, chips and cheese dip, and a drink.
I got my order and noticed I was missing the cheese dip for the chips. The burrito also had one tiny piece of chicken. I went inside the store with my receipt and informed the guy behind counter what happened. He goes “Sir the cheese sauce is not free and cost money”. I showed my receipt again and informed him that I paid for a meal that includes this and the issues with the burrito. He goes “Sir extra cheese cost money”. I understand fast food is hard but at least treat people with a tiny level of respect. Horrible experience but I kinda expect it at fast food...
