My first impressions of La Mojarra Loca was that it was easy to miss from the exterior, tucked beside a gas station with ample parking.
The outside might not catch your eye, but inside, it's full of life with rich aromas and vibrant decor. Service is top-notch; our waitress was friendly, attentive, and ensured we had everything we needed.
Food and Drinks
The menu entices with photos and an array of options. Here’s what we ordered:
Ceviche Tropical: A hit! Loaded with shrimp, mango, cucumber, topped with cilantro and red onion, served with tostadas and crackers. Fresh and flavorful, it was the perfect appetizer.
Salmon Al Chef: My daughter’s choice, this salmon dish with teriyaki sauce, fried rice, and vegetables had a balanced, hearty flavor without overpowering the fish.
Burrito Pecheron: My wife loved this burrito filled with tender, seasoned meat. Not overly spicy, but packed with flavor, complemented by a rich salsa.
Cielo Mar y Tierra: My favorite—a combination of marinated steak, chicken, and shrimp. The chicken was tender, the steak flavorful, and the shrimp perfectly grilled and pre-split for easy eating.
Flan: Authentic and creamy, reminiscent of childhood treats.
Lava Chocolate S'mores: Rich and indulgent, though we were too full to finish.
The atmosphere here is energetic and inviting. With ample seating for groups, it’s a great spot for gatherings. The decor is lively, and the bathrooms were clean and aligned with the restaurant’s casual charm.
Ideal for seafood and Mexican food lovers, families, and friends looking for a relaxed, flavorful meal. Generous portions, fresh ingredients, and a welcoming vibe make this a must-visit.
The pricing felt fair, especially given the quality and freshness of the dishes. No hidden fees, and the meal was worth every bite. La Mojarra Loca is well worth a...
Read moreI had the pleasure of visiting La Mojarra Loca at Rancho for the first time, and I must say that my experience was exceptional. From the moment we entered, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with fun music that perfectly complemented the ambiance of the place.
The food was simply wonderful. Every dish was on point, full of flavor, and perfectly prepared. I tried several drinks and cocktails during my visit. The drinks I ordered, the "Pirata," and the "Piraña," were a unique experience that I highly recommend. My daughter enjoyed a non-alcoholic piña colada that was also excellent.
What truly elevated our experience was the service. The manager, Simón, was outstanding for his kindness and deep knowledge of the dishes and drinks on the menu. His recommendations were spot on and his service was impeccable, among the best I have experienced in any restaurant, and believe me, I have visited many very good ones.
The attention from Yoselin, our waitress, was also excellent, making us feel well attended to at all times. But it was Simón who really made our visit memorable, demonstrating a level of attention and professionalism that is rarely found.
Unfortunately, I can't give more than five stars, but if I could, I would give all the stars possible. I highly recommend La Mojarra Loca to everyone. I hope you enjoy this extraordinary place as much as I did. The food, the atmosphere, and the service are first class, making it one of the best dining...
Read morethis place sucks. like, really bad. it’s not the mexican restaurant that used to be here about a year or so ago. they randomly changed their name and menu without any sort of advertisement. the service was absolutely terrible. about 30 seconds after my plate of food was set down, the waitress came back and rudely reached over and grabbed my plate quickly and said “one second!” without any sort of explanation as to what was going on. she returned 3 minutes later with my plate, but now it was missing the pickled onions on top. she said “i’m sorry sir, you said no pico and i wanted to make sure your food was correct”. yeah, i said “no pico”, not “no picked onions”. what gets me is that my original plate of food didn’t even have pico on it. to top it all off, i asked if they could split the bill 3 ways. the waiter said “sure, not a problem”. he returned about 15 minutes later and stated that they “just got a new POS system a few days ago”, and that he did not know how to split the bill. i told him “that’s fine, no worries. just give me the full bill and i’ll pay it”. another 15 minutes goes by, and he finally came back with my bill. i go up to the front to pay, and they took another 15-20 minutes to process my card payment while i was standing at the front desk waiting and waiting, with zero explanation as to what was going on. i do NOT recommend this place. you’re better off going to taco bell up the street. the food is better...
