Best value for your dollar in the Las Vegas Valley, as far as barbecue is concerned. The portions are extremely sizable, and quite delicious for the most part. The brisket was excellent, and the hot links were some of the best I've had anywhere in the US (and I'm considering Georgia, Alabama, and Texas in that!), and the same can be said for the baked beans, just LOADED with goodness. Not everything was excellent, though. The ribs were a bit dry, and they had quite possibly the saddest mac & cheese I've seen; definitely needs a creamier cheese sauce. There was also a lot of southern food on the menu, with catfish, dirty rice, po'boys, and other southern staples I'm excited to try later. The service was stellar in every regard, the lady at the counter was extremely friendly, helpful, and checked on us to make sure we were all good. The restaurant was clean, and the decorations were very busy with signs and other knicknacks, a bit warm inside, but not uncomfortable (it was late July, after all). Overall, this is a very good choice for BBQ in the northwest, and is an incredible value for your money....
Read moreWe live right by this place and have for about 2 years. We finally stopped in today and I must say for the price its a hit! We got Ribs, Brisket, baked beans, garlic mashed potatoes, cornbread and the fried okra. All for 60 bucks!
First the homemade sauces are divine. Top notch! The brisket was a bit fatty for my liking however that was my fault for not asking for leaner cuts of meat. The lean bits that were included were amazing. The cornbread was sweet and fresh. The garlic mashed potatoes were heavenly, the baked beans were seasoned perfectly which is hard to do because most BBQ places go heavy on the brown sugar in those. My partner raved about the ribs I didnt try them personally but they looked great!
The absolute star of the show was the fried okra. I've eaten fried okra all over the country and this place hands down wins them all! I so wish I would have gotten photos for Ya'll but trust me its worth the stop! Atmosphere is rustic and inviting. Service was impeccable. If you find yourself on this side of town in Vegas stop in and if you live in Vegas hop over its worth it!
Trust me...
Read moreYesterday my husband and I had the pleasure of eating at Texas BBQ wagon. We were looking for some tasty ribs and, boy, did we find them. First, the place is actually in a strip mall but you step inside and you're in a cozy BBQ joint. Their menu is quite extensive. Ribs, pulled pork, brisket, catfish, shrimp.... so many choices!
But we were there for ribs. We both ordered 5 bones and a side. My husband opted for the spicy sauce with a side of potato salad. I opted for the mild sauce and a side of beans ... plus an additional side of potato salad. This was a mistake. The portions are generous. My husband was fine with his but next time I'll order 3 bones and one side.
The food was delicious!! We both loved our sauces. The beans are so good! The potato salad was yummy. Just good food. The service was top notch. They made sure we were happy and had plenty of sauces. And, I'm happy to say, I brought home leftovers so I have another meal. I highly recommend this place. We will...
