This morning (10am-ish), I visited the drive-thru for what I hoped would be a quick and easy drink order. Both lanes were open, with an employee taking orders at each. As the kind gentleman in my lane began taking my order, I noticed a female coworker from the other lane walk over and insert herself into the conversation in a way that felt unnecessary and frankly, rude.
As he asked me questions about my drink, I responded directly to him. However, she repeatedly interrupted by echoing the exact same questions he had just asked—as if I hadn’t already answered. For example, when he asked for my order and I responded, she immediately repeated the question as if I hadn’t already provided an answer. The same occurred when he asked about the drink size—I answered, and she again repeated the question.
Her behavior came across as condescending, almost as if she were mimicking or mocking the interaction between us. Granted this is a conversation that she did NOT need to be a part of. Whether she was attempting to be “funny” or something else, the result was an awkward and unpleasant experience for me—and likely for her coworker as well.
After she walked away, I even tried to lighten the situation by joking with the gentleman, facetiously saying, “I like how you guys have this double confirmation thing where she just repeats everything and I answer twice.” It was an attempt to mask the discomfort, but the situation had already made a poor impression.
I understand the company employs many younger team members, and with that, a certain level of immaturity might occasionally be expected. Unfortunately, today’s encounter seemed to reflect...
Read moreI recently visited Dutch Bros Coffee for the first time after hearing rave reviews from my co-workers. Excited to give it a try, I drove up after work with my daughter. While waiting in line behind a Jeep at the drive-thru, we noticed the worker and the customer ahead seemed to be engaged in a personal conversation, causing a noticeable delay as cars began to stack up behind us.
Feeling tired after a long day, I decided to drive around the Jeep to avoid waiting unnecessarily. However, upon reaching the window, we were met by a young worker who, with an unprofessional demeanor, began yelling at us, accusing us of cutting the line. I calmly explained, "Your co-worker is chatting with a friend; we didn't want to wait there." Despite this, the worker continued to argue with both me and my daughter, eventually refusing to assist us.
Frustrated, I requested to speak with a manager. Shortly after, the team lead, Jazmine, approached the window with a warm smile and handled the situation with exceptional professionalism. Her calm and respectful demeanor immediately de-escalated the tension, and she efficiently took our order. Her outstanding customer service left a positive impression, and we were happy to leave her a well-deserved tip.
While the initial interaction was disappointing, Jazmine's professionalism and ability to turn the experience around deserve recognition. She is a shining example of excellent customer service and would undoubtedly make a great candidate for...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting Dutch Bros Coffee, and it was a nice surprise during my trip. I hadn’t planned to stop here, but due to heavy traffic while traveling to Lake Tahoe, I decided to take a break and check it out.
I ordered a blended freezer, and it turned out to be a really good choice. It was flavorful and satisfying without being overly sweet, which I really appreciated. After getting my drink, I poured it into my own tumbler to help keep it cold for a longer time — definitely recommend bringing your own tumbler if you’re stopping by!
The staff was very friendly and upbeat, making the experience even better. They were quick to take my order and made sure everything was just right. You could tell they genuinely enjoyed interacting with customers, which left a positive impression on me.
The only downside is that there’s no seating area and no restroom available at this location. For travelers like me, especially when driving long distances, having a restroom and a place to sit and rest would have made a big difference. Because of that, I’m not sure if it’s a place I would rely on for a travel stop again unless it’s a quick coffee grab.
That said, I would still love to visit again whenever I’m passing through. I just hope in the future Dutch Bros considers adding a proper restroom to make it even more...
