Rasoi — Restaurant in Lathrop

Frustrated. So I ordered 2 curry's 1 spicy lamb Rogan Josh and 1 spicy chicken tikka masala and 3 garlic naan. I call to confirm that the meal comes with rice. They agree over phone it indeed comes with rice. So I put in my order and tell them I want an additional 2 side orders of a large box of rice (they put their rice in to go boxes large and small). He takes orders down and tells me 30 minutes. I wait and go get my food. I returned home just to find 1 large rice that's it, not even the rice that comes with the meal. So now I drive back. And explain what I ordered. Now I'm in a little argument with the man because he tried giving me a hard time like I was a liar, till he reads his recipe he wrote. Then goes back and returns to me with 2 small boxes of rice?! Then I'm frustrated and say no I wanted 2 xl boxes of rice additional to the rice that comes with the meal. After some gibberish he returned with 1 xl box of rice so I never received the rice that comes with the meal. I always go here and this is disappointing because its happened a few times now they try to scam you...

I'll begin by saying I think the quality and cost of food at Rasoi has always earned at least 4 stars for me, but after years of coming to this establishment without issue, I don't think I'll be coming back again for a while.

I came in at 5PM and I ordered rice, naan, and tandoori chicken and I was told the wait would be 30 minutes. While waiting for my food, another waiting customer was complaining that his order was not ready and he had been there for over 1 hour. When I asked how much longer my food would take, it appeared that they had lost my ticket and the kitchen staff was not even aware of my order. Ultimately, I also waited for over an hour, and I was never given an explanation for the delay.

My assumption is that their business does well enough that they can afford to have people wait, but I don't think it's fair to the people that are expecting to receive their food within a reasonable time after...

Service was amazing! Very friendly staff and inviting location. As far as food goes, by reading all the reviews I thought it was going to be great. I was surprised. Not as good as I thought it was going to be. I had the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Butter chicken was way too sweet, tasted nothing but yogurt had no other flavors, no spice flavor and couldn't even taste the chicken. Chicken Tikka masala was ok but a very strong garlic taste, which took over all of the other flavors of the dish. I'm Indian, so I'm just being honest as far as indian food in restaurants goes. They only had two dishes that were boneless, so selection wasn't there that I would expect from a restaurant. I've been to a lot of indian restaurants in southern California and modesto area. This restaurant wouldn't even make my list of great or even good indian restaurants. Food needs a...
