Me and my family go to Denny's at least twice a week because my daughter who is special needs love the food and the robot we named Rosie. We went today 3/1/24 at approximately 1pm. We sat at a table in the back. I'm extremely allergic to animals Especially dogs and cats. For some reason my allergies just went off and when I glanced over I seen a lady and her dog 🐕. The dog was sitting at the table beside the lady eating food off a plate 🍽 when she got up she had about a six foot leash. The dog was at our table sniffing and shaking and she was still at her table. I told my server that the dog was sitting at the table eating. He said he would advise his manager. My allergies went off so bad that I had to leave the Premises to get air. I have no issues with dogs and it's not the dogs fault that I'm allergic but I do have a problem with the dog sitting at the table eating off plates and lying his head on the table. We asked for a manager again at approximately 1:40 pm and was told that there wasn't a manager or supervisor in the building. So no one came to speak with us about our complaint and I'm assuming the restaurant can run with just servers and cooks. Again this is a special place for our special needs daughter and we have been going to this particular Denny's for over 20 years at least once or twice a week and for the manager or supervisor not to come to speak us because I'm sure someone was in charge is disappointing and disgraceful. I'm sure the health department and the state of Maryland Prohibits dogs from sitting at the table in the booth eating food. Now we have to rethink are favorite daughters restaurants and that's absolutely terrible service from the manager or supervisor. They could at least came over to here our complaint. The service and server Arido G provided very good service. We always ask for Zakia hope I spelled her name right and she is an incredible amazing server. We normally never have issues that's why it's so disappointing no manager or supervisor would at least speak with us. Again we were told that no manager or supervisor was working. I took pictures of the dog sitting and eating at the table. My order number # was 554968 3/1/2024 Denny's 314 Washington Blvd Laurel...
Read moreUpon walking into the restaurant, the area between the outside and the restaurant itself, I was greeted with an odor that smelled of urine. An unpleasant introduction.
Prices are way overpriced. Burgers are as much if not more than Outback. Come on. You're Denny's. Lumberjack Slams are 13 plus dollars. They have 55+ meal options. The Cheddar and Eggs entree clearly states the entree comes with both bacon strips, sausage links (both plural) and buttermilk pancakes. They had another entree option under the 55+ category that had 1 egg, 1 bacon, 1 sausage, hashbrowns and toast for 7.49. When I was ordering my food I was initially told my cheddar and egg entree comes with 1 bacon and 1 sausage link (or) 2 sausage links (or) 2 bacon strips. They verified with kitchen. Again the menu clearly reads the sausage links (and) bacon strips as plural. When entrees only have one of each bacon strip and sausage link it is clearly listed on the menu as such. ??? This exemplifies short changing 55 + customers of what is supposed to be a value meal for their age category.
The wait staff however did accommodate and deliver the items as listed on the menu. The wait staff was friendly and polite. My water glass was not refilled. The restaurant was not very busy so refreshing water shouldn't have been a problem.
Denny's has been continually declining in value over the years. Along with IHOP they're continuing the trend of pricing themselves right out of the average Americans's price range. I remember a time when IHOP and Denny's would be packed and both offered many entrees at affordable prices. Now I will usually save my money for other restaurant establishments in the same price range offering better quality food. Denny's is an option only when I am literally super hungry and no other options are available that time in the evening.
I have typed this entire review and my water glass is still empty. My check has not been delivered even though I finished my meal quite...
Read moreWarning: super long review. OMG, this Denny's is amazing! I've (literally) been to every Denny's in the DMV, so I have a basis for comparison.
I called on Christmas night to see if they were open. Obvs, yes. It took me a while to find the order. The woman on the phone was patient and acted like I was one of two customers. She politely put me on hold to cash someone out then promptly came back to me...waiting for me to find what I wanted.
When I got to the restaurant (around 9 pm or so), the parking lot was filled! Inside, there were tons of people (almost every table was full and several people were waiting for pick-up orders). The staff were friendly, pleasant, efficient, communicated with all customers, and my orders (which had different types of additions) was right! Someone bussed tables immediately after customers left and even the robot was busy dropping off food, but strangely not bumping into people in the crowded lobby.
This was NOT like your usual Denny's! No one had an attitude, left you hanging then eventually came around to see what you wanted, ignored you, was condescending, or spoke to you like you were wasting their time...and this was on Christmas night when I'm sure those people wanted to be off work! I don't know where the manager got that team from or how they were so motivated to give such good customer service, but I was impressed and pleasantly surprised.
I plan to order from the Laurel location in future to avoid the usual Denny's-brand hassle. Now, instead of skipping the drama, I can just go out of my way to get good pancakes! Congrats to the Christmas night Denny's team and the...
