We just moved into the area & we noticed the high reviews & thought the pictures of the food looked really good. It was our first time coming in & it was packed. (I felt a bit bad for the employees since it didn't seem there was much ac and seemed like it was hot in the kitchen and warm in the restaurant while they were all running at a million miles per min lol. Anyway, there's no signs on how things are set up there. We didn't know you had to order your food first at the counter, then find a table. So we came in ungreeted waiting to be sat. There were so many take out orders, we didn't realize we probably blended in with those people. I finally went in another line even though we had been there awhile to ask what we were supposed to do to get a table since it was our first time there. That's when I found out. Customer service definitely was not there the entire time we were there, but not because they lacked lazy employees. Again, some of the busiest employees I've ever seen. Anyway, we ordered our food & when it came, it blew my socks off. It was so good! All of it. I was very impressed. I've been spoiled with el paso tx food and even I was impressed. Next time I would either try to go during a slightly less busier time if I was going to dine in, or just do take out. But definitely will be back. There is no denying the quality of the food which is what's most important. Highly recommend! (We ordered the barbacoa tacos -amazing!! & chicken tostadas. Horchata is the best...
Read moreSo my Wife and I kept seeing these "Birria Tacos" online and since it was Taco Tuesday we had to make it.
Yelp suggested this spot which have been to long ago for plain old tacos that were good, but we didn't come here this night for those.
We asked the woman at the register about the Birria Tacos and she said with or without cheese. Of course you go with the cheese. She said "good choice" She explained each order comes with 4 tacos, the dipping goodness and the consume on the side. We ordered 2 of them an she said with passion "they are so good " thus making us even more excited about this new experience.
Driving home with the amazing scent wafting through my suv was so hard, I wanted to dig in.
Got home and we went to town on those tacos. The bursts of flavor that explode in your mouth is amazing. The tenderness of the beef, the crispy and flaky outer shell is ridiculous an the fresh ingredients topped with that white cheese, WHEW! These make you wonder why did you ever eat a regular plain old tacos before this.
Taco Tuesday has a new leader for us and we are bowing down to the Birria Taco. Taqueria Los Primos knows what they are doing for sure.
I must warn you, eating regular tacos I not the neatest task I the world, and neatness is out the widow with these tacos. You can't help but bask in the messy an juicy goodness. Every bite and spill is worth it in the end. Have plenty of napkins...
Read moreAuthentic Mexican food with friendly staff in a nice environment with great outdoor seating area. I was a bit surprised that the rice and beans seemed storebought, they did not impress and that should literally be the bread and butter of any traditional Mexican restaurant. The food itself was okay, good but not great. While the presentation was nice, there was not a ton of flavor even with the added sauces.
The part of this experience that brought it down to 3 stars is they have a very unorganized order fulfillment system. The receipts you get all say "custom item" because management did not bother to program the menu into their point-of-sale system.
Unfortunately they brought a completely wrong order out for me. It took minutes of back and forth for them to realize they made a mistake and went back to get my correct order. Problem is, my family had already long had their food.
Even worse, when I finally did get the correct food I ordered, it was brought to the table in pieces, with my elotes being brought out 20minutes after I ordered them.
Meanwhile, people who ordered elotes after me were getting them before me! Again, the food is strictly decent. The staff is friendly. But owners or management simply do not care about providing quality service. They'd rather have errors and bottlenecks instead of simply programming the menu into the registers/tablets they use to...
