Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Laurinburg

Edit 7/20/24: Freddy's has hit their stride, they missed an item in one of my recent orders and made it up in the next one. The fries are perfect, food is warm and delicious, and the Reese's Shake slaps if you like peanut butter!

Original: I've been 3 times with a pickup order, the first time was opening day and the dinner order was flawless and ready to go when I walked in.

The 2nd time was a Friday, I scheduled a dinner pickup order 3 hours ahead of time, came and it was not ready. It took around 15-20 minutes past our pickup time for my order to be ready. When I got home, my hamburger only had lettuce and onion, when on my order I paid for a California style. There was no sauce, no cheese, and no tomato.

The 3rd time was a Saturday, I scheduled a late lunch pickup order for ASAP, and it was ready when I walked in, but it had 2 chicken tenders instead of onion rings. I let them know we still needed onion rings, and told them we would just eat our food in the restaurant and pointed to where we'd be sitting. My husband checked in 2 more times while we were eating and they said they were working on it. We were 95% finished eating about 20 minutes later and my husband asked for it again, and told them we had to leave soon, and finally got them. Keep in mind this was a pickup order and it took 20 minutes to get onion rings to fix our order. And the fries were pretty cold too...

My husband and I often travel between SC and NC and are always looking for quick restaurants during our trips. I’m not a fan of fast food, but that’s usually all we can find. So we stopped at this Freddy’s location because they have a veggie burger option and my husband loves smash burgers and frozen custard. Based on our typical experiences at other fast food businesses, we weren’t expecting such a great experience. Our cashier and server, James, was both friendly and efficient and made us feel welcomed. The staff at the pick up counter and in the kitchen (you can see into the food prep area) were also pleasant and hard working. They all seemed to like their jobs and work well with each other. We received our meal quickly and the food was excellent and very fresh. The restaurant was extremely clean and comfortable, including the bathrooms. The dining area is a bit smaller than many fast food restaurants, but that wasn’t an issue for us since we dined at an “off” time. Overall, this was the best fast food experience that I’ve had in years with the best staff. We will definitely make this a regular stop when we are driving...

After waiting 20 minutes for 2 milkshakes, the cashier realized they had somehow lost our order. After another 10 minutes, I was told they were completely out of vanilla after making 1 of our milkshakes. I was asked if I wanted to substitute chocolate for vanilla in my Orange Cream. That didn't sound very appetizing, so we settled on a chocolate milkshake with peanut butter. I waited again and then realized no one was making my substitute milkshake. I had to tell someone else and then wait for her to make it. When I finally got my milkshake, it had no whipped cream. The lady who served it had already walked away without asking if everything was okay. So then I have to ask for whipped cream and the lady who didn't include the whipped cream rudely asked for someone else to get it for me. Absolutely terrible customer service. The milkshake was good, silky smooth and creamy, but not much peanut butter flavor and it was not mixed well. I won't...
