What happened to my favorite restaurant in Laurinburg N.C.? If you time warp 4 years ago this would be a great option for dining.Tonight I was told it would be a 45 minute wait to be seated and then an additional hour before our order would be ready. I thought this was a little exaggerated so I decided to wait. Within 15 minutes we were seated. I wasnât very pleased with the table but with all of the restrictions due to COVID 19 I was understanding. The lighting was delicate and the ambiance was nicely received. However, the paper towel napkins and plastic table covers were not what I remembered from my previous visits. This is supposed to be a very decent dining choice in an area that has very limited options. I do wonder why a town of this size has such limited sit down dining options. We had to ask about bread. We were told that the bread would be served when the meal was served. Once the bread was served, it was clearly frozen bread warmed in the microwave. I donât have a problem with this but it is a far cry from the fresh bread that was once served. Why? My wife ordered the Parm encrusted chicken with asparagus. Asparagus was no longer on the menu so she chose the fresh cut green beans. The green beans were canned and the chicken was dry...really dry. The cheese sauce was ranch sauce....not sure why. I ordered the seafood Parmesan. It was supposed to include shrimp, scallops and crab meat. I was served 1 scallop, 2 shrimp and maybe a piece of crab with noodles. I really hope this restaurant gets back to its beginnings. If not, McDonaldâs would be an equal choice for about $100 less. A couple more points...waitress ignored my wife and at the end of the meal she rated herself 5 out of 5 stars on the portable pay station. She didnât give me a chance to rate her or the service on the device. She didnât even ask if we wanted desert. I would have given her a 2 and the bar staff a 5. The food was so bad we didnât even want a to go box.....and we have two teenage boys at home that would eat a leather belt if it had hot...
Read moreI was in the upstate area this weekend for a wedding and wanted to have a nice sit down dinner the night before. This restaurant located directly in front of the hotel i was staying in so I asked about it. It came highly recommended by the hotel staff, the spa I visited and the clerk at the nearby store. They all said this was the best spot in town for steaks and their other options were also very good. I am happy to report that they were all correct. They are only opened from 5-10 pm so I got there at a great time of around 6pm. I was immediately seated and my drink order was taken. The place was already pretty full arrived, but it quickly filled to capacity amd by the time I left, potential diners were being told there was a 45 minute wait to be seated. I started with a seafood bisque and it was not only very tasty, but also very meaty. I find a lot of bisques don't have a lot of meat within, but this one certainly did. The steak was prepared exactly as I wanted it amd was delicious and easy to chew. Not sure I will.ever be back in this area, but if I do I will definitely stop in here again and try some of the there menu items. Highly...
Read moreTook wife here for Valentine's Day. Have never been before but was highly recommended by some coworkers in this area. I'm glad we gave it a try. Food was great, prepared well and everything was clean. Our waitress was awesome. She had a great personality and took good care of us and everyone else in our area as far as I could tell. There was a line outside the door waiting to be seated right at 5:00. They took our number and we waited in the car for about 15 minutes. I suppose for social distancing, they don't let you wait inside which is fine by me. Overall, I highly recommend. You will be...
