Numero Uno Pizza — Restaurant in Lawndale

We used to be a big fan of Numero Uno and in fact it was probably our favorite pizza.

Our recent visit this week was our first since before Covid. IMO, going back several years, Numerous Uno used to be one of the best around. Different location, growing pains, different owners, who knows but it kind of went up and down. For awhile you never really knew what you were getting. And for us, there were a few times that it really wasn't that good.

With the pizza the other day, it again had that sweetness and thick crust we loved. I will say that it seemed a bit short on the tomatoes on top though. Cutting back on the amount of toppings that are included is usually one of the ways to try to control costs.

I have to say the quote on the box said it all. I drove from OC to get this delicious Sicilian pizza. When I got there I had to park in the back which kind of seemed strange. My pizza was still hot and ready to go with the order done perfectly. I even got a chance to show the people at the register my Samsung pay. So glad they were able to use it and let me show them so that they can take more payments that way. The pizza was delicious. I can't wait to go back and get more. One large pizza is about $23 but they do not skimp on quality. I did not take a star away because of parking because that has nothing to do with the owner or the establishment. Keep up...

Love their thick sweet crust pizza with stewed tomatoes! The best! Especially with sausage and black olives. Gave them 3 stars only because the cashier lied to me about the bathrooms availability. She said they were not working, but I could tell she was lying because she hesitated as she looked back towards the restrooms before she answered me. A simple, truthful answer like "they are closed because of the pandemic." But, still, I was a paying customer and not some transient, homeless person wanting to mess up their bathroom. She could have allowed me to use the bathroom since I was a PAYING CUSTOMER. Glad I didn't put any money in her tip...
