I'll be frank, I went to Golfshac for my free trial with no intention of signing up for a membership. I figured I would go before an actual round, warm-up, dial in some distances, and that would be it - a fun, informative, free experience I could take advantage of. A week and a half later and I have been to Golfshac almost every single day.
What sets Golfshac apart is the niche it has found between the corporate golf fitting simulators and the golf entertainment sims that are essentially bars with golf. Fitting places are overpriced and overcomplicated. Simulator bars are fun with friends, but not realistic for practice and improvement. At Golfshac you get the best of both worlds with no pressure to buy clubs or overpay for drinks (you can byob).
Value wise, Golfshac is the perfect price for those golfers that want to get better without breaking the bank. A weekend cart round at a mid-range public course can be upwards of $75 these days - which means Golfshac monthly membership is the same cost as two golf rounds. Furthermore, for that price, you can go to Golfshac for an hour everyday. I am someone who plays at least 2-3 rounds a week, so two rounds less a month for this membership was a no brainer.
In one week I have seen a major improvement in my game. It isn't magic, and I get a complementary swing analysis, but the data and information I get from the simulator has genuinely helped me dial in my swing. I doubted how helpful ball and club data could actually be to a below average golfer like me, but it has made a world of difference.
Lastly, Golfshac is a small founder-funded and friend-owned business. The owners are hands on and the employees are super helpful and knowledgeable. The phrase, "at _ you're family" may be a bit cheesy, but I feel it applies at Golfshac.
In conclusion, I am stoked that I found this place. I have been searching for a course, range, or simulator membership that would encourage me to get out practice more without breaking my bank account, Golfshac is that place! I think LA golfers would be hard-pressed to find a better value within a 10 mile radius. You should sign-up...
Read moreGolfshac is a great golf simulator/practice facility in the South Bay/LA area. I'm one of those people who just happened upon this place by chance, and I went in with low expectations, but I am happy to say that I was absolutely blown away.
I'll start with the important stuff--they're using Foresight GC Quad launch monitors with the fully enabled software that shows all the ball and club data possible. These monitors are $18k/each and are top of the line; nothing better out there. Unlike the random simulators you might've tried at random golf shops or your company party at Top Golf, these simulators are EXTREMELY accurate when it comes to ball information, and the club data completely sets them apart. Without club data (flight path, face angle, angle of attack, strike location, closure rate, etc.), you just don't have enough data there to actually improve your swing.
In addition to the awesome launch monitors, the hitting bays themselves are phenomenal. Great space, nice projectors, decent quality turf/mats, and solid computers so you're not waiting on buffering/software problems.
Lastly, the employees that I interacted with are amazing. I spoke on the phone with Erica prior to coming in, and she was incredibly kind, professional, and on top of things. When I came into Golfshac for the first time, you could tell that her first priority was to help me be a better golfer--not just to "make another sale."
Amazing. amazing. amazing. Really grateful places like this exist that offer exactly what they're advertising and at very affordable prices. It's also not hard to find times as long as you book a day in advance (though this might change as word gets out on how great this place is). There are facilities out there with nicer swing camera setups, improved software and app integration, and better "fit and finish," but they also cost significantly more. This is a great option for anyone looking to...
Read moreI decided to check this place out after seeing the ridiculous prices of the bucket of range balls at Alondra. I am very lucky this place popped up when I searched "golf courses" in Google.
Fantastic staff, top of the line equipment, and good to fantastic prices for membership. (Good-Fantastic depends on if you buy the packages or not)
I tend to not give 5 stars on things because I believe 5 stars should be when something exceeds the expectation one should have regarding a product/experience. Most things in life tend to be/should be "as expected" i.e 3-4 stars.
This place absolutely exceeds that. Sign up for the free one hour...
