The drinks were fantastic.
The menu of food options is terrible, I appreciated the parfait, but had to repeat several times because they didn't know what a parfait was, but did understand by yogurt.
The system of ordering: *You have to go to the back were the staff is *You have no idea what you are ordering since they don't have a menu There was a big line and it was very slow because they have *ONE person taking orders and 8 others looking at the line until an order is place (not the fault of the staff but of the system)
*There were 6 of us, so we had to go an order and pretty much do it 6 times
Don't know what happened with my order but I was first and they forgot or the system didn't show them my order
*Servers were bring our order 1 product at the time. I imagine as they were ready, but it was disruptive, we could talk or have a good time until the last item since we kept being interrupted. We had to keep reminding them of what we ordered and what they were missing.
One of the servers came back to confirm that we had asked for a parfait, I said "I paid for it, I saw it in my order" and it rubbed her the wrong way and she even gave me a rude attitude.
All in all, we loved the place, the ambiance, decor, the style is amazing. I appreciated the majority of the staff were Dominican though didn't have a good experience with the service/ attitude.
Please make a better menu, as in more savory option and fresh. Like warm croissants, ham and cheese, toasts, and maybe one or 2 savory options for kids. We would have spent more money if there were kid options (not cake or sweets) = more profit = kids friendly = more clients
Please create a system that helps your staff be more efficient. Have them take the orders to the clients complete. I asked for a parfait, chai and morir soñando, and they all arrived separately with 15 minutes or so time difference. Eating fast may have your clients ordering more items = more profit and happy clients
Maybe have your staff take orders, 8 people taking orders is more efficient than just 1 for the entire place. Happy staff since it will significantly reduce the amount of times they have to go to a table = efficient service = happy clients = more profit
The decoration is perfect 👌🏼 but maybe you need better space distribution to accommodate more clients = more profit and happy clients
There is a lot of potential for this place. I am giving you a second chance next November and promise to revise my review if things have improved in...
Read moreThe guest service at this establishment is horrible. I was seated in an area for 3 people waiting for students who were going to join me for a study group (and were running late which is why I was seated by myself). I was asked to change my seating to accommodate other people. When I explained the situation, they claimed that I was there for hours, but I had recently arrived, just got my order, and still had coffee left in the cup. Still they continued to ask me to move despite me explaining that my students were on the way. I decided to leave due to this treatment as I had looked around and noticed others who had arrived before and at the same time as me so it felt highly discriminatory. My students arrived just as I was leaving and we decided to take our business elsewhere. As a customer who frequented this establishment almost every Sunday for the past few months AND brought in new customers, I won't go back due to how they treated me. While the coffee and food might be good, the way you treat customers, especially loyal customers, matters.
The atmosphere has changed since first checking out the establishment. It used to be quiet/relaxed with nice jazz playing in the background, but now it’s overpacked and loud on Sundays mornings so I don't recommend this cafe if that's the ambiance you need to read/write/study.
I wouldn’t recommend this cafe to those with gluten allergies or Celiac's Disease. They place their gluten free blueberry muffins in the same display case as the regular blueberry muffins making those with Celiac’s Disease at risk for cross contamination. When I mentioned this to the person taking my order, she shrugged and said it was because they keep the blueberry items together. This level of ignorance is dangerous for people with...
Read moreMy daughter and her husband are teachers. They have off this week and asked her Father and I if we wanted to go with their little family to La Greka Cafe Art and Lounge on Essex Street in Lawrence Mass. We all went around 1:30. The hardest thing was finding parking but we did it. Let me tell you….they have been open for 6 months. First just standing outside of the establishment gave you an incredible cozy feeling. We all went inside and I have never ever been enveloped in hospitable warmth as I was was when we stepped inside. The decor is unbelievable…..lots and lots of nostalgia from ALL different countries! The music was calming and quiet and again from all different countries. The furniture was a great group of old time seating. Couches, settees, small tables, a few high tops, lamps and so so many wall arts! They serve a variety of breakfast items, sandwiches, pastries, cakes etc all homemade. They have a huge variety of coffee drinks, sodas and juices. The owners son was unbelievably kind and informative as all the waitresses were also. My husband and I got the Italian sandwich that was totally enough for two people. Then we got a slice of the Passion Fruit cake….we’ve never had anything like it before….amazingly moist! You could have sat there all day. I totally reccomend this hidden Gem! Essex street is being so built up! Please don’t go by us….try it yourself! They are all over FaceBook. We’ve found our new place for sure. I took some pictures with permission...
