We had wanted to try this restaurant for some time, but had read and heard very mixed reviews. We decided to give it a try for our annual celebration of my birthday and our anniversary on 1/18/25. We went at around 3:00 in the afternoon, so there were probably four tables, including us, being served.
We were seated pretty quickly, and Marisa T. was our server. We ordered wings as an appetizer, as we had been waiting all day to enjoy this meal. My husband ordered the special, which was Ribeye with Shrimp, and I ordered just the Ribeye. My husband doesn't eat salad, but she didn't offer another side at no charge, although salad was listed on the sides. All other restaurants offer this to him. He asked her if he could substitute a baked potato, and she said it would be $1 extra. The side prices were $4 for a baked potato and $5 for a salad. Why is there a $1 charge?
We waited forever, and our meal came, but no appetizer. I asked if we could just cancel, since it didn't arrive as it should. She came back and asked if we wanted to take the wings home, which meant they were trying to find a way of making us pay for them, although we didn't get them on time. We did have them boxed and brought home. Our steak and shrimp, whipped sweet potatoes, baked potato, and salad were fantastic. We only ate half and brought the rest home, because we wanted to enjoy dessert for our special occasion. I had creme brulee, and my husband had peanut butter cake; both were just OK. We asked for coffee, which was lukewarm at best, and given a few packets of various sugars and no refills. At every other "fine dining" restaurant we visit for this special occasion, the dessert is always complimentary. Also, we have never been charged for coffee, if we've already purchased another drink (tea, coke, etc). We weren't expecting this to be free; however, we overhead a server at another table telling them that their chocolate cake was complimentary.
The building was beautiful, but it was so cold in there that I had on a sweater, my coat, and was still cold. My husband, who is never cold, was also wearing a sweater and was cold. This also causes a negative experience. At the end of the day, we spent $155.00 on a very unenjoyable celebration dinner and will not be back, which is unfortunate, because the food was great! The leftover meal and wings were great the...
Read moreI am disgusted in how this restaurant handled Valentines dinner. They made you pre order your meal from a small menu. Which is understandable considering it should have been a busy night. Our reservation was for 7:00. When we arrive the restaurant was only half full. We assumed that they staggered seating. We were seated at about 7:07. Our waitress came over about 10 minutes later to get our drink order. Which took another 10 minutes to get. Again, keep in mind we had to preorder food. So you would assume that food would be coming out at a regular pace since they knew what everyone had ordered. We get our salad at about 7:35, almost 30 minutes after seating. At 8:00 we were told our food was almost done. At 8:35 nothing. I go tell tell the waitress to cancel our food and we would just pay for our soft drinks and salad. She said not to worry about it. The most aggravating thing is, the waitress only came around 3 times in the hour and a half. Which I can understand, only because she didn’t want to hear from customers. Either the Manager or owner, whose name is Chris, seemed to only be concerned about salads, which was considered their starter tonight. No care at all about people’s entrees. A proper business would have had the manager or owner come to every single table and apologize for the ridiculously long wait. Especially since they already had everyone’s orders. At no point was the restaurant ever more than half full. This restaurant clearly benefits from being in a small town with a lot of old people that never complain. You have a very nice looking restaurant that should be a higher level of service. But they failed miserably. And sadly, I truly think they do not care. So we had fast food, on valentines night, at 8:50pm. We generally drive to other areas to eat at nice restaurants because there’s not much here. We go to Franklin to J Alexander’s regularly. They are always full. We have never been there for longer than an hour to order, eat, and pay. And they are always packed with a large restaurant. I highly doubt we will ever go back to this restaurant. And as I said before, I do not think that the owners or managers even care that they...
Read moreThere are not many restaurants that truly take me by surprise by the quality of the experience as a whole. This was my second time coming and it was just as wonderful as my first. You walk in with a very relaxed and clean atmosphere, lighting is very warm and welcoming. Our server was very friendly, smiled and kept our drinks filled can’t ask for much more than that. Now for the main star the show, the food. My party of four ordered the crab beignet as our starter and it swiftly came out of the kitchen not long after ordering, they were wonderfully moist salty and sweet, the dipping sauce complimented them perfectly and everyone at the table enjoyed them very much. Now the entires, 2 fried cods 1 chicken parm normal and 1 chicken parm sub Alfredo sauce. All the entires came out at the same time and not a single complaint was said at the table, the cod was fried and seasoned to perfection with a crisp only heard on cartoons you watched growing up, the chicken parm was a masterpiece, unbelievable tender chicken that you didn’t even need a knife for, and if that wasn’t enough to make you want to personally thank the chef the seasoning and fry on the chicken would make you want to personally get on one knee and ask for the chefs hand in marriage, both sauces marinara and Alfredo were amazing, the marinara tasted fresh, hearty, fresh, acidic and sweet, the Alfredo was seasoned well and while I do feel it lacked salt the perfect creaminess and seasoned chicken paired with it fixed the issue and was delicious. This was an experience needed to be had by everyone who comes across this small hidden gem. Don’t miss out on this wonderful...
