I used to work at the boba shop in this location before it went out of business. When I passed by the area and saw there was a new Boba restaurant in its place, I had to stop by to try it. They didn’t have any bread items for me to try when I went in (despite being called bread and bubble tea) but the Matcha tea is delicious!!! This is literally the best Matcha tea I’ve ever had in my life, it is so freaking good! They got my order a little wrong with the toppings, but I could’ve also clarified before paying. The boba is really gross. I think it’s just classic boba with no sweetener or flavor so it definitely ruined the tastiness of my Matcha tea. Next time I’ll make sure to specify sweet boba. (I often forget that the sweet boba is not the default in a few places.)
The shop also has such a cute leaf/flower wall to take pictures at! But the rest of the shop is very haphazardly decorated and they could definitely use some new colored furniture that matches the floors. Or change the floors to match the shop. Or just have some type of cohesive theme and color. The orange, green, and pink marbled floors are from the previous boba place as those colors were it’s logo colors.
But the new shop has white and yellow walls, gray couches, random colored pillows. And then earth toned planters everywhere. It’s just a bunch of random decorations and stuff everywhere so it doesn’t look put together, but I’m sure the food probably makes up for it. It’s always a shame when small cafés like this one miss the mark in terms of decoration and making the place a really comfortable and cohesive space. They could’ve easily turned it into a really cute and cozy area that has a lot of plant decorations with earthy neutral colors to match the white. And added splashes of yellow as an accent color to match the yellow on the walls.
I obviously care A LOT more about a restaurant’s presentation than the average customer, so these are just my two cents. It’s OK though, because I will definitely be back to try some of their other teas since they are more traditional. And I definitely want to try some of their bread items as bread is my absolute weakness! Can’t wait to go back to try something different. Will probably drag my bf along too so he can get a...
Read moreSuch a cute little spot in Lawrenceville! I hand the chicken bread the other day. It's a banh mi with shredded curry chicken! Today we went and got bubble tea. I ordered ahead online because they make it to order and we had a large order. My daughter loved the decor. The drinks were great. I got a lemonade guava tea for my hubby, my daughter got a jasmine milk tea with honey crystal boba, I also took home a taro milk tea with lychee boba and a matcha milk tea with honey crystal boba. I had the Vietnamese iced coffee, which was strong like I expected. Late this evening I got a call from the store. The owner found my number (probably from the rewards system) and called me to tell me there was a glitch in the online ordering. She was going through their sales and realized I was over charged by 2 drinks. My order showed 5 drinks but somehow it charged my coffee 3 times the price. I thought the price was high, but wasn't really sure because I made so many add-ons. She was calling to apologize and offer me a store credit! Something she didn't have to do, but it's so appreciated. I will keep supporting...
Read moreI came in after not being here for about a year. I was sad to see that the Bahn Mi’s weren’t being served, but they said they were bringing them back in a few months. I got the Thai tea with tapioca balls. The tea tasted ok but it was very weak. My daughter didn’t really drink much of hers either. For the drinks to be $8 I was hoping to really enjoy it. It tasted ok but more like sweet milk instead of tea. The space is still cute and I was really hoping to show my friend how neat the place was but it was so loud. When I came in the last time , it was quiet and the drinks were made in the kitchen. Now you hear a blender every 20 seconds and the noise bounces off the walls. We couldn’t hear ourselves talk. And then these really loud women came in and sat right next to us so we just left. I would recommend moving the blender to the kitchen instead of keeping it in the front of the store. No one wants to hear that. The guy that served our drinks was a nice person. Kindness goes a long way so I appreciated his demeanor. I would come back but maybe when it’s quieter and the blender...
