We went on a Friday evening around 6 pm with high expectations because of all the good reviews we found on several different sites. Having lived in Germany many years, it’s easy to draw a good comparison.
The restaurant has a very nice authentic Bavarian atmosphere and a good selection of German beers. There is limited parking on the property and from the outside we thought the place was packed, even though it ended up being at less than fifty percent capacity.
Service was fast and efficient; we were seated immediately. Waiter took our drink orders within the first minute of sitting down, and took our dinner orders as soon as she brought our German Beers.
We ordered the Schweinshaxe (which is there specialty for Fridays), which came with home fries; we couldn’t change the home fries to spaetzle, so we ordered a side order of spaetzle with gravy. We also ordered the Teller Sampler Plate, which came with schnitzel, bratwurst, knackwurst, leberkaese, wienerle, potato salad, home fries, red cabbage, and sauerkraut.
Within a few minutes our salads and bread arrived. Salad was authentic German mixed salad, but bread was American rolls. Our meals arrived much faster than expected within about 20-25 minutes. The meals were very large in size, but the quality of the meats were a huge disappointment. All the sides (home fries, potato salad, spaetzle, red cabbage, and sauerkraut) were good, or average. The schnitzel, knackwurst, and wienerle, were like they left them in a deep-fryer for too long.
The schweinshaxe was the main item we came here for, because we fell in love with that meal when we traveled to Germany a few years ago. The schweinshaxe we had here had, besides the shape and size, absolutely nothing in common with the ones we ate at the Rhine River Valley and southern Bavaria; it was very salty and coarse, not the melt in your mouth texture we remembered.
For desert we had the black forest cake, which was the highlight of our meal. The cake was good, but nothing to write home about.
At just below fifty dollars, it would be a great place if it wasn’t for the bad quality of some of...

So it is my wifes birthday and I ask for a special wish for her..most places will sing or bring a piece of cake right ...No, the blonde at the register at the end of our meal comes out and says my wife gets a spanking.. really! Before I can stop it a five-foot-long wooden spoon appears, and she hit my wife on the behind.
Not in a fun way either a thunder clap of a hit. I was in complete shock if she had been honest with me from the start and told me this was their sick little treat I would have told them to forget it. Instead, my poor wife was sore and bruised by a cruel and not in the slightest bit amusing hit to both her buttocks and hip.
I would post a picture of the bruise but that's enough abuse to my wife at this juncture, what a sick and twisted thing to do from one woman to another.
And after I had expressed how completely offended and outraged and even now I can't calm down from this blatant abuse in public with children present.
What is wrong with this woman it was not joked in the way this was done.. It was bad enough that I contacted the Lawton police department since this was a public assault of the worst kind.
I have eaten in many placed around the world and never have I witnessed such an insane and cruel display.. and the woman came to the car after I had told her just how unacceptable this was, and she had the audacity to think...
Read moreMy family and I traveled to Lawton, Oklahoma for a very special occasion, my niece’s Army Boot Camp graduation. After the ceremony we decided to try something new. My niece’s ROTC Sargent traveled from New Orleans to attend her graduation and since he is German, we decided to honor him by dining at a German restaurant. We Googled and found Mutti’s which had really positive reviews so we decided to check it out. Let me tell you! We had such a good time because we bring joy wherever we go and our joy was reciprocated by the wonderful woman whom I assume is the owner. If she is not the owner, she handled everything like a BOSS!!! She was professional and on her grind but her customer service skills was at 1,000 and she was friendly, hilarious, lovable, and I could go on and on. She even gave me hope about dating and marriage after I decided to never date again. The beauty in this is that she had no idea how our conversation encouraged me. If I’m ever in the Lawton area again, I will definitely visit Mutti’s to eat some good food, tasty dessert, and have a good conversation with that sweet woman whose name I failed to write down so sorry. I may have forgotten her name but she received a really nice and well...
