My niece and I were trying to furnish our new apartment on a very tight budget so we decided to go to the Sonrise thrift on Sheridan in Lawton, OK when we were first asked by the men, cashiering at the store this evening, if we wanted the whole bed or just the mattress or just the frame and our reply was we only wanted the mattress and box springs after paying $200 I realized that we were attempting to a carry a whole bed out of the store to put in my vehicle and I said I don’t want the frame only the bed and mattress, the men cashiering told the men carrying it to wait a sec and they then turned to a man who was rude from the jump that stated he was the assistant manager and we would have to take what we got or pay more money or wait for the manager on Monday. They refused to refund my money or make the transaction right by replacing it with one of the other 3 sets they had on the floor. Instead the so called assistant manager wants to raise his voice at me then when I match his volume demands we leave the store and they threaten to call the cops which I said go for it you’re the ones committing a crime taking my money for this and then pushing something else on me then refusing to give me back my money! So I ended up leaving the store with the staff shutting the once open doors on us without my money and without the merchandise I came to purchase to begin with. So I honestly do not recommend this place to anyone! Especially since the products they sell are mostly donated to...
Read moreWE WERE TREATED VERY BADLY BY MICHAEL ONE OF THE MANAGERS. FOR STARTERS I AM THE OWNER OF AUCTION HOUSE 282 AND DID WORK FOR FREE ( CHARITY) FOR THE SHERIDAN RD. STORE. MICHAEL, ONE OF THE MANAGERS SOLD ME A FEW HUNDRED FIGURINES WITH THE AGREEMENT ANY DAMAGED THAT THEY PACKED, WOULD BE RETURNABLE AND OR FOR EXCHANGE BECAUSE HIS GUYS PACKED THE BINS AND WE NOTICED A FEW WITH NOTICEABLE DAMAGE.. I DIDNT EVEN ASK FOR A REFUND WHEN OVER 140 DOLLARS WORTH WERE DAMAGED AND HE OFFERED STORE CREDIT- I ONLY ASKED FOR EXCHANGE. I HAVE THE TEXTS. WHEN I WENT TO REDEEM- THERE WAS NO DEADLINE MENTIONED AND WE EXPLAINED WE WERE ABOUT TO HAVE A BABY AND WED BE BACK BEFORE WE MOVE. HE RUDELY TEXTED ME SAYING I WAS TRYING TO GET OVER ON THEM. IVE NEVER HAGGLED ANY OF THEIR PRICES- PEOPLE WHO KNOW US WILL TELL YOU, WE ARE AN HONEST BUSINESS.... I HAVE MORE DETAILS ON MY FB PAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION WITH THE TEXT MESSAGES SHOWING OUR LAST CONVERSATION TODAY. VERY DISHONEST OF MICHAEL AND QUITE RUDE TO SAY WE WERE " ACTING CHRISTIAN" WHEN HE WAS TRYING TO GO BACK ON HIS WORD... I WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK WITH OWNERS OR SOMEONE HIGHER BECAUSE WE ARE STILL OWED $50. WEVE SPENT THOUSANDS AT SUPER THRIFT IN LAWTON. ITS A...
Read moreThis is the one thriftstore I always go back to. I'm not a fan of Christianity (17 years of religious abuse) but this place has kind people. I didn't know they helped troubled youth but that makes me even more of a fan now. As for the selection, I come back here because they often have higher quality items. Those items are priced a bit higher than the cheaper things but they are items that will last decades if cared for. Humorous aside: they had an odd piece of furniture that we couldn't figure out what it was. The employees spent some time googling the image to no avail. I bought it anyway. Still don't know what it is but I hang my washclothes on it. grin I also bought some vintage sci-fi books here which I...
