El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in Layton

This is a brand new location. The food was great. I really enjoy their food, but I am not thrilled with the customer service and atmosphere at this new location. The employees seemed too busy to care about their customers. They forgot my salsas, so I went to the counter to get it, and EVERYONE on the staff acted as if I didn't exist. For about 2 minutes, I started to believe I was invisible. It got to the point that it was obvious that every employee avoided looking anywhere near my location to prevent from having to help me. Finally, an employee accidentally locked eyes with me, and you could see it in their face that they were disappointed they were going to have to help me. As for the atmosphere...the dining area is really small. The music was too loud for the size of the dining room. It seems like this El Pollo Loco is aiming for a new hip feel as compared to the Riverdale location, which is more classy...if a fast food joint can be classy...anyway, it's just the ambiance and feel and I didn't really like it. I have been here several times with no issues so that would be 5 stars. But my most recent visit earned them te 1 star. I go to order and I tell Mia (think that was her name. I started with a M and was a young girl that this probably was her first job with how young see looked and new to this place cause she had to keep calling over someone to help her with other peoples orders) that this was to go and she just stared at me i go to place my order and asked if i wanted chips with it. i asked does it not come with tortilla's and she said no (all the other times i have ordered the same thing i got tortilla's) i finish the order and she then asked was this dine in or to go. If she was listening to me i said that at the very beginning all other place i go to i say to go at the beginning and they remember at the end of he order. this place need to better train people on taking orders and hire people that know how to listen to what the customer is saying and not ask a question to what they...

I have been here many times. I really like el pollo loco, but this location is terrible. They never have chicken for a chicken meal. It’s a chicken place. How do you not have chicken. When ordering online they always are out of something, so when you pick up the food they don’t know what to do. They just stare at you and tell you the manager will be with you. After waiting forever, and the manager never comes out. They finally reveal they are out of an item and ask if you would like something else. Then they disappear again. Then the manager finally comes out and asks if you’re being helped and you have to explain the whole situation to the manager. This has happened not once but almost everyone I have been there. After all that they still get the order completely wrong, they forget the dressing for the salad, don’t give you the substituted item and never give you salsa.
