I had the pleasure of visiting Banburry Cross Donuts in Layton, Utah, on my first day in the state. And let me tell you, it was an experience that truly made me feel welcome in Utah!

As I arrived at the donut shop, I noticed a long line forming. Curiosity piqued, I joined the queue, not knowing what to expect. Little did I know that fate had a delightful surprise in store for me. It turns out that on that very day, national donuts day, The Manager of Banburry Cross Donuts was giving away a free donut to me!

But beyond the free treat, what impressed me the most was the genuine hospitality and warmth that radiated from the staff members.

The moment I bit into my first donut, I knew I was in for a treat. The donuts were fluffy, moist, and bursting with flavor. The quality of ingredients and the attention to detail in their preparation were evident with every bite.

What truly sets this establishment apart, however, is the sense of community it fosters. While waiting in line, I struck up conversations with fellow donut enthusiasts who were as captivated by the experience as I was. It was refreshing to witness the genuine camaraderie and joy shared by everyone present, making me feel like I was part of something special.

Banburry Cross Donuts in Layton, Utah, has perfected the art of making not just mouthwatering donuts but also creating an environment that exudes warmth, friendliness, and a true sense of belonging. This is the kind of place that goes beyond serving delicious treats; it creates lasting memories and leaves you with a smile on your face.

If you find yourself in Layton, Utah, don't miss the opportunity to visit Banburry Cross Donuts. You'll be welcomed with open arms and treated to an exceptional donut experience that will make you feel right at home in the beautiful...

I’ve come to the Layton store on antelope Dr several times and they usually take several min to respond to their drive through window .. today 20 August 2023 we sat at the drive through several min and no one responded. So we decided to go in, it was 20 to 1400 hrs and as we walked in the female worker was machine cleaning the floors instead of answering the window. Her attitude was pretty intolerant and remarks were made that “they close in 15 min” this is after waiting nearly 5 min at the window she wasn’t answering because she was cleaning the floors. When I was growing up u didn’t START cleaning and closing down until the store was actually CLOSED. And u definitely don’t ignore the windows so u can keep cleaning the floors. There were several customers that were coming in 20 min and 10 min BEFORE closing. The male employee working was very nice and apologized for her not responding to the window and said he’d told her multiple times people were at the window and she wouldn’t respond. I can honestly say between her attitude, the lack of fill donuts nearly every time I come in especially the lemon filled donuts and the fact they’re cleaning floors instead of responding to their window and While customers are trying to get their orders filled I am very hesitant to ever go back their. Which is a shame because their donuts are amazing. I have not been impressed at all by this stores customer...

Ordered a dozen doughnuts and am very pleased. My kids are loving these! They actually have a very nice texture. Cheaper than Krispy Kreme and leagues better in quality and especially service. I came on here because the old fashioned doughnut is the best I’ve ever had. The actual doughnut is nice and crispy but not overcooked at all. Frosting is the perfect amount. Also the maple bar, which isn’t even the best doughnut of the batch, is the best flavor of maple I’ve tasted. It’s my first time here and I’m definitely coming back! The blueberry flavor is also amazing! The dough they use is fresh and tasty. Then they actually cook it well. It’s a nice crispy bite. I didn’t have a soggy stale doughnut like you usually get from other places. Also the frosting is a satisfying amount that you don’t usually get. But not too much. Actually just a really good set of doughnuts. I have been sleeping on this place for sure. We got a good variety and sampled a lot of them and still haven’t finished them. They are actually larger doughnuts than average as well. They really have a homemade feel to them instead of the standard skimpy mass produced ones. These guys are our new doughnut...

The Salt Lake location was always the best place in the valley for donuts. I was excited when they expanded to additional locations, including close to home in Layton. Unfortunately, they’ve gone progressively downhill since they’ve opened here. I can’t count how many times I’ve gone here and they are sold out of popular items before 9am; yet tons of less popular items fill the shelves and front cases. If the items constantly sell out, that indicates people really want those and you should adjust production to fast moving items. They also just get smaller and smaller and price goes up and up. I understand inflationary pressures across the board in this country require higher prices, but why not keep the product the same size/quantity and just charge a premium for it. I would much rather pay more for the same instead of more for less. I don’t think flour, grease and sugar have gone so high as to make items 1/3 normal size and twice the price. Now, it doesn’t even seem worth going. Case in point is getting three bars today for $6.78 and they look like together they’d be a single donut anywhere else.

These are the best donuts I’ve ever had in my life. They are light and fluffy and remind me of donuts from a particular business (kk), but 10 times better. These donuts are soft, melt in the mouth, have incredible flavor, and are filling. When we stopped by on a Saturday afternoon, they didn’t have many donuts. They sell out very quick, so be sure to get there in the morning. We were able to get six glazed donuts and six blueberry. We definitely want to go back and try more flavors! The employees were really nice and were able to get all of the customers helped quickly. My only complaint was the dirty counter. It was covered in chocolate, sprinkles, and glaze which normally wouldn’t be an issue, but that’s where they set the boxes down to fill them with donuts. When I got out to the car with my box, I got chocolate on my hands and clothes. Luckily we had some paper towels in the car. We’ll definitely be back for more delicious donuts!

They have delicious donuts! I prefer these over KK or most others. I only took off a star because I ordered 3 dozen raised rounds for my daughter's birthday and they substituted some of the chocolate rounds for chocolate bars without telling me. There were supposed to be half dozen chocolate with sprinkles and half dozen plain chocolate but we didn't get any with sprinkles and only 3 of them were the rounds the rest were bars. I wanted all rounds so nobody fought over who got the bars since they are bigger. I didn't discover the issue until I got home since the boxes are sealed when you pick them up. I didn't have time to go back. I would have appreciated being contacted if they had run out so I could decide what to substitute instead. They did give me one extra donut so perhaps that was their way of making it up to me. But they should have informed me when I picked them up at the very least.
