This has to be THE BEST HIDDEN TREASURE in the Kansas City area! When you go out to eat, Yes, it's about the food, which as you can see clearly in my pictures that they Don't disappoint with their very high quality, Amazingly delicious food but it's always more than just the food! From when you walk in, always greeted with a very warm welcome, their atmosphere is so clean, appealing & comforting! With all the vibrant show case of plants, positive & motivational sayings you will notice hanging from their walls, all the way to the very pleasant music they play! From the owner, Louis, who you'll find making sure he is personally at tables making for sure that his customers are always happy, to his very wonderful staff that you'll find are passionate about serving you & your loved ones , guaranteeing your having the Best experience possible! I eat out ALOT! I am very familiar with all the high end restaurants in Kansas city but , The Breakfast Spot, is a very Special place! For the very affordable price you get here, you can't go wrong folks! If you haven't tried it, it's a MUST! Share with people because I wish I had known about this place before I found it! My girlfriend ordered from this place on DoorDash this morning as we were looking for a new breakfast place. It was probably one of the most disappointing experiences we’ve had ordering out. We spent almost $100 and it was mostly extremely bland, I actually would prefer IHOP to this place 100x over. The $12 “chicken and waffles” are 3 flat Tyson-looking chicken strips on a single waffle, the french fries were cold brown shoestrings, and the hash browns had the taste and texture of pure mush. My biggest issue is we ordered 2 biscuit sandwiches, which come with eggs, Mayo, cheese, and a protein. She wrote very clearly in the instructions to please put the protein only, no Mayo/cheese/eggs. She did this because I have an egg sensitivity (baked into things usually doesn’t get me too bad, but pure eggs or Mayo triggers a 1-2 day reaction.) BOTH sandwiches ($11 each) came completely disregarding the instructions. Fried eggs, cheese, Mayo. It’s not like you can just pull off an allergy or scrape dairy and mayo off that’s melted into a biscuit. We even double checked the kitchen receipt which was stapled to our bag and it very clearly in all caps stated the special instructions. We submitted the complaint of the sandwiches to door dash and got refunded a total of $5.90 (of the $23 in sandwiches) refunded. 1st time visiting from out of town and the reviews were promising, the food was a let down. I had the Texas Benny, the gravy looked and tasted as it was from a package, not actually made, and was very bland. The home fries were good but came with no seasoning. My oldest daughter had the chicken fried steak and scrambled eggs, same issue with the gravy, packaged look and taste, bland and her home fries also had no seasoning. My youngest daughter had the Cobb salad, grilled chicken had good flavor but was dry, salad came with ranch on it but it was sparse for the size of salad. Lastly, my wife had the steak and eggs, we don't expect much from a non-steak establishment when it comes to steak, she ordered it medium, it came out medium well-well done. She tried to get through it but it was just too well done. Her home fries were also not seasoned. We spoke to the waitress, who was VERY nice about the issue with the steak, she had the manager come over, they offered a new steak but by that point my wife had lost her appetite, they comped half of her meal.
