I loved the "green with envy" burrito. It was so big I asked the server if it could be cut in half and one half wrapped for me to take out. No problem. Am so thrilled to have this new option for eating in downtown Lebanon as I am mostly vegetarian, and that usually rules out 90% of what I see on Mexican-food menus.
I do worry about folks being put off by the need to place their order on a touch screen. People were going back and forth between the menu written on a large chalk board and that screen, getting confused, causing a backup to start forming. A few got frustrated and, seeing no available human staff after a couple minutes they swiveled around and exited. That touch-screen stuff seems like more of a New York City way of doing business than an Upper Valley way. I'm sure there are plenty of people like me who aren't very familiar with this cuisine and would appreciate being able to ask a server questions about menu items the old-fashioned way. Would it be possible to have a dedicated greeter/helper at least during the peak mealtimes? This is why I'm giving only one star for "atmosphere." I suppose it's fine for younger folks and I know there's a labor shortage and costs must be cut, but a 75-year-old like me is apt to just sigh as one more screen muscles its way into our life and takes over what used to be a pleasing, informative, human-to-human...

Driving by I had to do a double takeāIāve been vegan now for a few years and to see a food truck in Lebanon NH that sells only vegan Mexican foodāwell I thought I was dreaming. Iām glad I stopped and spoke to Heath. Super friendly guy and extremely knowledgeable about food and what it takes to make excellent vegan Mexican food.
I got a burrito with rice, beans, taco āmeatā, pico. I opted not to order a sauce but Heath provided me with a sample of one that he thought would be a great finishing touch to the burrito. The man was spot on!
At black magic you wonāt leave hungry. Portions are very good sized and absolutely delicious. In fact Iām sure I must have made some people driving by the park laugh out loud if they saw me not stop stuffing my face with this burrito. I work as a courier and this is a place I will wait and endure hunger pains for as itās later in my route. I only wish they were open all year round. I cannot recommend enough. Most stop whether you are vegan or not. Itās that damn good! Thanks Heath for providing this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNow look: I drove an hr from Vermont (after floods, a crazy storm and closed roads galore) for this place -- even called to make sure they were open to not waste my time -- and I am soooo Happy to write Black Magic Mexican was worth it + change. Was lucky enough to even find parking (free for 3 hrs) a few paces from the truck.
The vegan game is poor (to put it lightly) at best where I'm currently staying, and I never thought I'd see a FULLY plant-based Mexican place(!!) - I got 2 tacos with the side of Mexican rice? Fabulous. The taco 'meat' was seasoned Beautifully and I loved all the stuff I found in the rice. I didn't think 2 tacos would make me full, but - WOW! That was SATISFYING! Also have to give props on how everything was separated + packaged extremely well. That's such an important skill for takeout, and this truck has NAILED it.
(You seriously have me considering moving to New Hampshire haha)I wish you all the success and good fortune, Chef. Keep fighting the...
