Good lunch but there was one problem: ONLY ONE REFILL on soda for $3.00. I left with a satisfied and happy belly with the lunch specials I had for $9.95 each. They were both tasty and it was nice to go somewhere different for a change. The L1 noodle soup was chock full of noodles and vegetables and the cilantro gave it a nice, fresh taste. The L8 spicy Thai noodles with chicken, onions, green beans and red and green peppers was tasty and hit the spot. I would go back for lunch again, but I'm bringing my own drinks. Three bucks for a Coke and only one refill is both greedy and offensive. Lebanon tap water tastes like there was a dirty sock marinating in it and I had one sip and had to order a drink. You don't make enough profit selling a $3.00 Coke with 4 refills that costs you like 68¢ that you have to limit us to one measley refill? That's greedflation at it's best.
Again, good meal, tasty and fairly priced. I would recommend the lunch specials for sure. However, bring your own drinks because three busks for one refill is absolutely ridiculous. I won't play that game again and neither should you. I shouldn't be thirsty afterwards dropping almost $30.00 for lunch with tax and $5.00 tip.
I tried to post this with a copy of my receipt but there was no way to do so. If I can edit it later I'll...
Read moreI decided to dine here on the recommendation of the hotel staff where I stayed the evening. He said the food was incredible. This turned out to be an understatement. Remember in "Blood in Blood Out" when Miklo gets out of jail and eats the burrito after years of eating prison food and says to Cruz: that's the best thing I've tasted in 9 years, vato loco!"? Well In my case, I've never been to prison, and instead of 9 years, it's probably the best food I've tasted in my entire life!!! I ordered the red curry duck, and let me tell you, I've never experienced the willingness to abandon, everything I hold dear to my heart if it meant I could taste this dish again. And when I mean everything, I mean everything: my nationality, culture, religion, family and kids, etc. if you go here and don't try this dish, then you've really made the decision to live with regret. In short, treat yourself and dine here - it will change...
Read moreEdit 2022: as busy as ever, the pandemic hasn't affected quality. Food is still fast and delicious, always a pleasure.
Original: Whatever the reason, the hiatus seems to have been very good for Thai Orchid. The new location is convenient, including dedicated parking. The building has been extensively renovated, and while you may recognize the furniture as the exact same as the previous Hanover location, the decor, lighting, and ambiance are well done. Most importantly, however, the food is improved, being somehow both hearty and delicate at the same time. The flavors aren't aggressive, but rather subtle and overlapping, making the overall composition very agreeable. Though there are still moving kinks to be worked out, as an early visit I found it successful...
