So first off, we showed up around 7 PM. So maybe a lot of this is because the meat was sitting around for awhile. Not sure. The ribs were good. A bit overcooked and a little dry, a bit too tender if anything, but the flavor was good. The chicken was also good, but it was a little dry too. The pulled pork was very dry. Still good when drenched with their house BBQ sauce, which was delicious by the way, but it was still disappointing. I'd also like to say that the white BBQ sauce was delicious. I'd heard of that but never had it before, and was excited to try it on the chicken. Absolutely fantastic sauce. The potato salad was kind of just bad, though. The potatoes were extremely undercooked, with some of them even coming across as borderline crunchy. That could have just been a bad day? Maybe it usually great. The undercooked potatoes kind of matched the dry meats, so maybe things just went poorly today. The gooey cake was dangerously good. Not exactly the hardest thing to make addictive, sure, but good lord, it was good.

My husband and I decided to try Rusty’s in Leeds. We sat about 15 minutes waiting until they opened only to be greeted by an unwelcoming female and male when they unlocked the door to let us in. Wow, I have never felt so unwelcome to a restaurant in my life. They were very dry and told us we really don’t open until 11 after telling us 1030 in drive through. Their customer service needs a real tune up.I don’t know whether it was our skin complexion or they woke up on wrong side of the bed, but we instantly turned around and hit the road. A total waste of travel from where we reside, but I’d rather pay my hard earned retired money to a more welcoming environment. I will never, ever return there or recommend anyone else to go there. At least not as soon as they open because we instantly felt unwanted and unwelcome. They didn’t even attempt to persuade us to stay. Thank God us military folks were trained to deal with people of their caliber. Their loss, not ours. God Bless America even if it houses these type of individuals.

Unfortunately, I had to update with tonight's experience. After ordering online and being told that it would be 30 minutes until ready, my husband arrived and still had to wait an additional l, almost 20 mintues to get the food. I've read locally, that they burgers are amazing, sadly, I was very underwhelmed. There was hardly any lettuce or tomato and not too many grilled onions, which I paid extra for. My bun and the fries were a soggy disappointment. I'll stick to the bbq and definitely not go back on a weekend, as we've had to wait before on the weekends beyond the promised time. I will also continue to use the drive thru in the future. The front counter folks are never overly friendly and the decor and atmosphere are a bit drab and depressing. The bbq was wonderful and the lady running the drive through, middle aged, thin, maybe blonde, was fantastic as well. I tend to go a bit overboard with my sauce load, and they were all there!! We eat here once every few months and the food is always great!!

Great bbq. Not every item was the same quality but the overall meal was excellent. The two best items were the ribs and the white sauce (i didnt try them together though, which i now regret).

We ordered the sampler for two which was a good deal for five meat portions, two large sides, bread, and tons of sauces (ask in advance, they will give plenty of sauce). The ribs in particular were falling off the bone and delicious, honestly some of the best ribs i've ever eaten, including Rendezvous and Central up in Memphis. The pulled pork was also excellent and the smoked turkey was good as well. The 1/4 chicken had an unusual flavoring on the skin that didn't seem to mesh very well with the sauces. It felt like a weird choice but the meat itself was perfectly cooked so i'm not complaining. The only disappointment was the brisket, flavor was fine but the meat was too dry.

Sauces were a wide range. Their original sauce was a bit tangy and tasted just a bit...off, maybe too heavy on the tomato base, hard for me to say. White sauce was a big standout for me personally, it had a good ratio of pepper and the texture was much closer to sauce than mayonnaise, it's perfect with the turkey and chicken. The sweet sauce was a thinner sauce with a typical sweet bbq flavor, probably the most "easygoing" sauce overall. The spicy sauce was a bit stickier/thicker than the other sauces which makes me think there is an asian component in there somewhere; it was my second favorite after the white sauce.

Our sides were the fried okra (just the right amount of crispy), marinated slaw (very vinegary, but good, they also have creamy slaw if you like that style more), and potato salad (more potato than mayonnaise plus a slight kick/spice). Good quality on all of them. Will probably try the collard greens next time and/or the...

Rusty's BBQ was really good, better than most chains for sure. I ordered the BBQ pork plate with baked beans and French Fries. Their sauce is a vinegar based sauce (a little more liquid than tomato based), which is typically not my favorite, but it was really good. The sauce was a perfect balance of flavors and spice. Not too spicy, not too mild. Just right. They got my food out quickly. The meat was exactly that, meat! Not overly fatty or gristly as is common at some BBQ establishments. The order was correct, with no issues. The girl at the counter was a little different? Her personality wasn't exactly unfriendly, but there was either a tiredness or a lack of social skills. One or the other, I can't differentiate. That is the only reason for a 4-star rating. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. The environment is also nice. The smoke drifts in from the cooking area, giving the restaurant the signature BBQ ambiance, sensation, and scent. I didn't visit the restroom facilities so I won't comment on that. Overall a solid 4 star experience, leaning heavily towards 4.5. This is not a fine dining establishment which is evidenced by the exterior. But this would definitely be a place to take the family, hang out with the guys, or just partake in good BBQ. I am not a drinker, but I don't think they serve alcohol. Don't remember whether they have Coca-Cola products or Pepsi. Overall, I was glad...

Sadly , disappointed. For a chopped chicken plate. Extra sides of fried okra and onion rings.

Potato salad- ok, a little plain

Baked beans; solid

Fried okra- after adding salt, good

Onion rings- sad, disappointed. I rarely eat fried foods but was treating myself. Very heavy batter, greasy, and mushy interior. Was like an onion paste. Would not recommend

BBQ chicken- I don't know what happened but this is the worst BBQ I have ever had. Opened and it looked beautiful, started to move the meat around, super liquidly. Like a bland broth. Didn't taste like BBQ chicken. Tasted like canned chicken tossed in BBQ sauce. After moving it around a little, idk I've never had BBQ chicken that was bland and watery. I think I'm actually going to have to drain it and try to get additional BBQ sauce from somewhere else. At this point, the only way this will be edible is to drain it from the weird liquid, and add BBQ sauce. It does not come with any sauce on the side- wish I had known would have added 2-4 containers to make this edible.

I have ordered from here before and it was really good. I'm super disappointed I was looking forward to having it again. Cannot recommend what I got, but a few months ago it was really good. This is really bad. BBQ is supposed to be the solid win, I'm honestly not sure this is going to be edible.

Baked beans and okra were pretty good B, potato salad B/B-, Onion Rings C-, BBQ chicken- F

Service...
