This was my fifth time dining here. The first four experiences were on weekdays when Business was slow. Food, service and everything was wonderful each time so of course I decided to come back again expecting the same great service and food. This time I had a party of five celebrating two very special occasions on a Friday night. Our reservation was for 8 PM. I called 15 minutes prior to arriving to make sure we would all be able to get the prime rib. The person answering the phone checked with the chef and said no problem we have lots of prime rib come on in. We arrived and were seated on time. Everything started out fantastic. We had two bottles of wine during the course of our dinner but two things happened. Number one, we finished our soup and salad and then we sat there. No one cleared the plates and no one took the dinner orders. It was a long wait. Our waitress was MIA. We had to bring it to the managers attention who seemed very busy at the bar mingling and not supervising the business of the restaurant. Our second problem, after the waitress was found, we proceeded to order the prime rib only to be told they were sold out. I explained that we just called before we came in and we were assured there would be prime rib. After quite a bit of confusion and another complaint with the manager all of a sudden the kitchen found some 12 ounce prime ribs. So here’s the reason I’m writing this review. If I’m going to drop this kind of money on a nice dinner, I expect things to go well. I don’t know what happened to our waitress, considering everything started out so well, more disturbing was the fact that I called the restaurant to make sure they had what we wanted to order and we would be able to order it, and we were assured to come in. After years of experience in the fine dining restaurant business I like to observe what’s going on in the restaurant during the course of my meal. My conclusion, Ultimately, had the manager been paying attention to what was going on at the tables and with his employees neither of these problems would’ve happened. It was like being on a ship without a captain. In an average restaurant things like this happen on a daily basis. But this is not an average restaurant with average prices. A manager in a restaurant like this has a very important job and should be paying attention to every detail of what’s happening around him. In conclusion, there are just too many restaurants to eat at. This was an expensive disappointment. I will not be returning. At nice restaurants with great service I would easily tip 25% tonight I...
Read moreI took my wife here for the Valentines 5 course meal! It was a little spendy but all the food was excellent! I had the meatball with ricotta for an appetizer and the meatballs were done perfectly not over cooked and the sauce was right on! Another in our party got the 2 shrimp app which i initially thought only 2 shrimp and he showed me the shrimp and they were bigger then your thumb! YUM Now the salads were salads nothing special. I had a Caesar and my wife had the house as did most in are party. Now came the soup I was the only one who ordered french onion and it was excellent! Everybody else got lobster bisque and they all agreed it was also great! Then we were all brought lemon sorbet to cleanse our palettes which really did the trick. One of the people in our group ordered the 7oz grouper and had to send it back which in some instances can be a problem. It had ben over cooked so was dry. We called the head maitre'd (chris) over and he didnt even question it said he would he get her a new meal. It was back out within minutes and that one was perfect! So that was done very nicely! I ordered dani's 8 oz filet medium and it melted in your mouth didnt really need to chew it! It was done perfectly! My wife had the 2 lobster tail dinner. This is my one suggestion here you need to have the butter dish above a flame to keep it warm. The butter got to room temp real fast and you gotta have warm butter to dunk that lobster in. Everybody who had the asparagus said it was excellent. I had a ice cream spoonful of garlic mashed potatoes on my plate that had no sauce on it or even any garlic flavor. Now it was fine but would of ben better if i would of even got a pad of butter to put on it. Now came the dessert and we were all so full from such a great meal. But it was part of the package in our 5 course meal. I got the chocolate on chocolate cake and if you like chocolate you can't lose on this, excellent. Everybody else got the salted caramel cheesecake and they all said, excellent! So the food over all was great. We had Phil as our main waiter and he did a good job but I think he was over stretched. He was nowhere to be found when we sent back the grouper meal and never checked my potatoes and I forgot so I guess partly my fault! When he cleaned our table with his little pen scoop cleaner we still had a mess but you could tell we were enjoying our meal. The owner came by and said hi but didn't really engage. I don't think anybody else in our party even knew! But very good overall and we...
Read moreWe were a party of 5. Wa walked in and were sat right away. Within moments of our arrival, many people came in wearing unusual attire. They were part of a pub crawl. It became unbearably loud for about 30 minutes or so until they all left. For my appetizer, I ordered the French onion soup. It was very good with lots of flavor. It comes with a pair of cutting shears so the foot cheese can be cut. Very unique idea ! I also had the side Caesar salad which was also very good. For the entree, I ordered chicken Parmesan, which came with a generous portion of spaghetti. The picture on the iPad menu does this dish no justice. The reality is that the actual chicken breast is about 3x the size of the one in the picture, much to my surprise. What it lacked, as is the case with many restaurants, is enough sauce and mozzarella cheese. My entree had a small amount of sauce with one slice of cheese. This dish should be smothered in sauce and heavy on the cheese. It should be shredded mozzarella covering the entire breast or at least ask the patron how much sauce and cheese they prefer. It was good but not great. Not nearly as tender as it should be. My wife ordered the ahi tuna. Again, the picture on the iPad does this any justice. The actual piece was also looking about 2-3 times the size of the photo in thickness. Unfortunately, it was not a high quality piece of tuna. If it was originally, then possibly it was older than a day or so. We order ahi tuna many times at high end restaurants as we did the weekend before and it was incredible. We told the server and he promptly removed it and brought my wife the double cold water lobster tails. She said they were delicious. Between appetizers and entrees, we were served a small portion of raspberry sorbet to cleanse our palates. This was a nice touch. The pre dinner cocktails were delicious. The key lime pie was very good for dessert. Overall we enjoyed ourselves, some meals were better than others. It does get quite loud in there. The piano player played great tunes but it too was a bit loud making it hard to hear our conversations. The prices are about 15% higher than they should be...
