El Flamingo Mexican Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Leesville

as a former employee, working here has been one of the worst experiences in my life. i don’t even know where to begin. the manager or what plays to be a ‘manager’ is absolutely terrible. the constant disrespect that is given to the employees when one thing doesn’t go her way. if you wanna work here, prepare for not knowing your schedule and being told to work 20 minutes before your shift. be prepared to be touched inappropriately and be left with a weird feeling. be prepared to do your job and constantly reassure your boss that her butt looks good or she looks pretty. because, i promise.. you will feel obligated to do so. one of the feelings i can’t explain of uncomfortably. don’t be excited to make friends with your coworkers, because that’s not gonna happen. i recall once i was polite and speaking to a new employee. i get a text from the ‘manager’, “i’m going home. have fun with your best friend.” like are you serious? are we two years old? the kitchen isn’t very sanitary. on top of all this, i informed the ‘manager’ i am unable to work saturdays anymore due to never knowing my schedule. i get a reply of pettiness that i can take every saturday and sunday off. well, perfect! then, my check is cut 40 hours due to her pettiness and complete lack of knowledge. and it was complete active congress to get the hours i got stolen from back. if you upset her, tell your family not to come in, they will be disrespected and treated like absolute trash. if you have a significant other, she will absolutely despise them. she will talk about them to you like it’s YOUR worse enemy. additionally, be prepared for her to try and work you 12 hours with NO BREAK. once this occurred, i spoke up. she got her butt-hurt and let me off a week because i refused to work 12 hours with no break. if you plan to let your child who is a minor work here, don’t. they will be worked illegally. let’s not forget about the amount of work you put in to just get underpaid and not make enough in general. this place truly sucks and i am beyond happy to close this chapter of my life...

Not very different from all of the other local Mexican restaurants. Would return.

Went on a Friday for lunch at 11am, not busy. Sat immediately.

Location: next to a Chinese place, across from burger King in leesville. It really sucks to turn left out of this parking lot due to oncoming traffic. Parking lot can easily fill up and is shared with the Chinese place

Atmosphere: festive, clean. Indoor & outdoor seating available. Tables and booths available. 4 adults can sit at a booth. It was FREEZING in here. Bring a jacket, even in the summer time. It made our food cold quick.

Service: friendly but had difficulty understanding our order (asking for no rice or beans). Attentive.

Food: a fairly large menu. Nachos, burritos, chili relleno, queso, tacos, chimichanga, fajitas, quesadillas, etc. Their salsa was good (and I'm not a big salsa fan). Ordered the beef chimichanga and it was okay- the beef had no seasoning. Others ordered a burrito (too much tortilla for contents inside) and chili relleno (it was good). Friends did not like the red sauce- can substitute for cheese sauce (queso).

Prices: they have good lunch specials for the week days. Pricing felt fair. Looking to spend $7+ depending on what you get and when you go (week day/weekend).

Overall okay. Just nothing that stands out to separate it...

The El Falmingo restaurant in Leesville is the most dysfunctional, customer UNfriendly, restaurant business I have ever experienced! They definitely need a manager that knows something about business, food, customer relations, etc. A 10-year old child could do better. The manager walks around with a disgruntled look all the time and very unfriendly and unprofessional. My last 2 visits have been so frustrating that yesterday I decided I would never return. They are a disgrace in their attitude, service, skill, and customer satisfaction. I rate them as below ZERO! What is so ironic is that the El Flamingo in Deridder is great! Good food, good service, good customer service, etc. Just not enough room. I Understand that both El flamingos are owned by the same person. This is unbelievable. Need to send manager from your El flamingo in Deridder to El flamingo in Leesville to shape it up. I was once a restaurant owner, so I know good restaurants when I see one. Please take my advice and fire that unprofessional and unproductive manager in the Leesville...
