Stopped here Sunday for some breakfast at 11am. I'm sure of the time because we checked out of the hotel just 2 buildings away. We were seated immediately. It was busy but not packed at all. Got our coffee within say 5 -10 minutes. Order taken another 5 minutes. And then we sat drinking coffee for another 40 minutes. At 12 o clock we informed our waitress who was very pleasant I might ad. That we would like to pay for our coffee and chocolate milk. We had waited long enough. She assured us our order was next and that the tickets are made in first come first serve order. Now that's fine except for the 2 guys sitting behind my wife arrived after us and were finished and paying their bill. So ok. She went to the kitchen to get our food but returned with a gentleman's food who sat at the counter a good twenty minutes after we were there. Then we got our food. It was not hot off the grill and appeared to have been under a heat lamp or some sort of heat. Food was warm at best. We each took a bite and chose to leave at that point. I asked who I believe was the owner for my check with the food sitting there. It was obvious she knew there was a problem! But instead of asking just slapped the check on the table and started to walk away. I just said no no no I'm not paying for all this. Her reply then was what's the problem. I simply said all of this is terrible. Never raised our voices or looked to cause a scene. Told her I would pay for the coffee and milk. But she declined grabbed the bill and yelled just get out. When my wife said listen we have been here an hour already she was told no you haven't. Well it was after 12 and we got there at 11 so yeah we were. So the wife takes a pull from her nicotine vape to prevent herself from yelling back ya know take a breath. That was met with a do not smoke that in here lol. Ok. So we get up to leave and she yells if you smoke that In here again I'll call the cops. What???? All and all a truly terrible experience. We should have read the reviews before we went our bad. Now that I have read many with similar experiences I'd like to let them know it's not the customer it's the kitchen and judging by the owner it's rotten from the head down. If this place is still in business the next time we visit the area I...
Read moreOn 10/4/22 my wife and I stopped at this place for something to eat around 3:30 PM and the server was the rudest, most obnoxious, argumentative server I have ever encountered. A sign on the door said prices may be different than what is on the menu so my wife asked her how much for their 1/2 waffle with ice cream ($3.25 on menu). The server responded rudely and simply said prices are on the menu…so we showed her the menu price and she said there was no change for the price of that item so we each ordered one. When the check came it had a charge of $3.75 plus $1.00 for the ice cream, making the price $4.75 each and not $3.25. I questioned the server and she ranted about how the managers change the prices and don’t tell her and that’s what it is. When I told her she said the menu price was right she accused me of being a “Boulevard customer.” She was rude from the time she took our order until the time we left. We are not “Boulevard customers” and, in fact, are new to the area looking for a good place to eat. Apparently, there is another restaurant called the Boulevard down the street. For sure, we will never go back to the Beacon 443 restaurant and we may just try the Boulevard next time. If this was my employee she would be fired. I believe the hostess witnessed this interaction and could verify what I am saying. That server is a disgrace to the business and the profession. When I told her she represented the restaurant, she said she only represents herself. She...
Read moreThis place is excellent. It has been a staple in this area many years. This was my first visit since before covid. Am so glad I came back. They where taking customers until 2pm on Thanksgiving day. Thank goodness they where open. I am not the most capable in the kitchen and my mom had a stroke last December. In which she did not fare well from. I did not know the owner knows my mom and used to ski together. She had not seem my mom in a few years. After they talked for a minute she put down the dishes she was carrying and asked my mom if she could give her a hug. Which she then did. And made me well up with tears. The food is excellent. Once ordered the food comes out pretty quickly. Never a long wait. The service is very good. The waitress I had was very nice, checked on us often, and had a smile that could light up a room. Prices are very good. Hard to beat. My crab cakes(Maryland style) where around 15 dollars, 2 sides included. And was very good. Mom got scallops. They had a turkey dinner special but we both got seafood..for Thanksgiving...go figure. The menu is huge. Really. Big chain restaurants have way smaller menus. You want it they probably make it. And make it well. Oh and they have RC Cola on tap. I am very glad I took my mom there. I will definitely be...
