I've been to Sapore once before and they have fantastic baked ravioli. This past time we went her, it was a group date. As soon as we get to the hosts stand, no one was to be found to take us to our seats, few minutes later, someone finally comes over to place us at a table. We were given our menus and reviewed our options, I will give them this, they have tons of options to choose from. It took forever to get A waitress not OUR waitress but someone to get our drinks. The OUR waitress finally shows up (it was not busy at the time we went) to take our order. She takes our orders and lets us deviate from the normal salad choice. She brings our breads and garlic knots out and spills the knots on the floor. No big, mistakes happen...however, the sauce in the bowl went up on her body, then back in the bowl when it slipped in her hands. She served this bowl to our other couple. She also dropped three garlic knots on the floor and took them back to the kitchen saying she would bring back three more. She came back, with two burnt rolls that had no garlic on them. She served our food, at two separate times. Our food was very good when we finally got it. After that, the service went even further downhill fast, The waitress brought us our check and it was $75.00! We saw she wrong us up for THREE items she shouldn't have! I asked her about the ring ups and she told me for the one item that she had to charge me for. Bread that she never said was charged, you don't OFFER someone bread if your going to charge them for it or you tell them its an additional charge! I asked her to see the manager, I spoke to the manager and he said it would come off...I got my new receipt, walked away, and saw the bread was still on there! I turned around, and asked the waitress about it again, she gave me attitude and said if her boss didn't take it off, that must mean i have to pay for it. I told her again, I wanted to the manager, this time she rolls her eyes and points to the counter and said okay...she then walks away. So I go to the counter, ask another one of the waitresses hanging around for the manager, he come up right after my waitress comes running back over to the register and I tell him again, about the bread, this time they both start talking in a different language and laugh, he finally takes the bread off. She then throws the receipt at my hand. I walk back to my table and give the new receipt to them. We found out they charged us for an extra soda we never ordered! Another item I would have had to argue about but chose not to. Needless to say the soda charged was her tip plus the two cents i left on the table. She even had the audacity to run out after us and demand an answer about her "tip" SHE THOUGHT SHE DESERVED. I'm sorry, no waitress with attitude, eyes rolling or unwillingness to fix my check deserves a tip other than find a new job! Additionally, for all you safe food believers our there... there is no way this restaurant passed the "safe serv" program due to their UNSAFE handling of food. I watched them handle and prep other customer's salads with their bare and UNWASHED hands. The did serve those salads to the customers when...
Read moreWe stumbled upon Sapore in Lehighton while driving back from a solar eclipse viewing. Despite some initial confusion at the entrance, the interior opens into a spacious and welcoming hall. Parking was ample and free around noon, adding to the convenience.
Right from the beginning, the service was exceptional. Our waitress, Sue, greeted us with a warm smile and proved to be very accommodating and knowledgeable, particularly about dietary restrictions. She effortlessly provided options for my wife who avoids onion and garlic, sparing us the usual back-and-forth with the kitchen staff.
The meal started with Fried Ravioli and Broccoli Bites, both of which were delightful. Sue also served us fresh baked bread with butter, which was a standout in its simplicity and freshness.
For the main course, we opted for different pasta dishes. The Tortellini Alfredo was creamy and flavorful, the Penne with vegetables tailored to dietary needs was satisfying, and the Penne Ala Vodka with Vegetables was heavenly. Each dish was prepared with care and clearly aimed to please the palate.
Although we were tempted by desserts, our satiety from the generous and delicious main courses meant we had to pass. However, the overall dining experience was memorable enough to warrant a strong recommendation. While Sapore isn't close to our home, it’s definitely marked as a must-visit whenever we are in the area again. A truly pleasant surprise and a gem for those seeking a satisfying meal in a...
Read moreVery disappointed today...our waitress obviously couldn't be bothered, no greeting, said Yo to us to be seated after we waited bout 7 min in a not busy place, then she said she had to wipe the table off as there were 5 tables empty. She messed up our order, brought someone else's plates to us and the table aside of us ...we both touched that plate n she then figured out it went to 2 guys on the other side. She didn't put our clam order in...we asked her bout them after the other food was out for awhile, then she looked on the slip n places the order, the scallops n pasta was wrong( not the pasta n sauce we ordered) the scallops n sauce tasted so Terrible ...like raw fish...we had 2 bites n told her it was horrible n not correct order...that ended up in the parking lot🤮 Even the clams were Terrible, the butter in a plastic cup was like margerin in water!!! We will never order seafood here again, Not fresh at all!! We usually enjoy their Italian food but won't be coming back here anytime soon, so many other great places to eat in Carbon County....
