P.T.'s Olde Fashioned Grille — Restaurant in Leland

I was prepared to write an excellent review about this place. My boyfriend and I ate at this location recently. The food was delicious, the cook was incredibly nice and checked up on us a couple times once we got our food. We got two burgers and an order of fries for each meal. When we were ordering I told the lady I wanted an extra order of fries. She explained that she gives a lot of fries so she didn’t think it was necessary that we get them. Sure, that’s fine. We appreciated her suggestion but we ended up getting an extra order of fries anyway because my boyfriend is a picky eater and we both love french fries. She asked us “Do you want that extra order of fries?” and then he thought about it for a second and told her yes. He was trying to be nice and make a quick decision. When we go out to eat, we tend to get a little overwhelmed because we don’t do it often, so we make quick decisions. When our food came out, it was a lot and it was delicious. My boyfriend picked out certain fries he didn’t want so there were fries left on the table. We both killed our burgers! When we finished we stacked our trays with the trash on the top tray so they wouldn’t have a lot to do when they cleaned. I was really impressed with everything and I went to use the bathroom. When I came out we left a tip and then left the restaurant. My boyfriend then told me the woman wasn’t very kind when we left. He told me that she said “I told you it would be a lot of fries... kind of a waste of food” when she came to clean our table. I understand that we got a lot of fries but was that comment necessary? We paid for it, so is it really a problem? I thought this place was great and was extremely happy until that occurred. It just threw us off and made us feel bad. We paid for it and tipped well in my opinion so I don’t think we owed her any type of explanation. It was just a weird experience. Other than that, everything was great.

I have been going to this location for 4 years. The burgers, fries and tenders were always so good. The seasoning they used for the burger was just perfect. In the past year or so it has gone downhill. The seasoned burger has been replaced with a bland patty and at the same time prices increased. The tenders batter has changed and lacks any flavor. There have been too many bad experiences here it's ridiculous. The service is atrocious, similar to what you'd get at a burger king. One time i called in an order for pickup. I was told 15min and when i show up 15min later they hadn't even started. When i told them thats not right to make me and my son wait another 20min all i got was attitude from the staff. Its as if they could care less what your opinion of their establishment is. I keep thinking they'll turn around, so today i go in and its packed. I wait for a table inside and when one opens up i go sit with my son. The table is dirty of course, so a staff member comes over to take the basket but nothing else. I told her this was not our table and we just sat, as is custom here. She acknowledged that it was not our trash. 10min later the table is still not cleaned so i begin wiping it with napkins and the cups were still not taken. She goes around and starts wiping all the other tables but not mine. Meanwhile i see 10 other people get their drinks before mine. This all was not a good experience, but i value the food more than the service. When the food came out i was extremely disappointed. Its as if the flavor and quality are consistently declining as well as the service. Last time i left a review they begged me to try it again because they're always improving. That has proven to be false time and time again. The value for this place has completely gone out the window. This is not the same place that I loved and am sorry to say I will not be returning. I give this place three stars because while the food is excellent and the service was good, the atmosphere completely stinks. I myself hate high top tables because if you’re trying to move your chair around you could fall over but that’s not the only thing that needs to be changed in my opinion. They have five TVs in the eating area. First off, why do you need five TVs? Most of the people eating there are talking amongst themselves and they’re not watching TV. But on top of it, if you are going to have that many TVs don’t have all these cords dangling everywhere with extension cords hanging out of ceilings and so forth. It looks very tacky. And can you replace the ceiling tiles? You look up and they look all greasy. And I don’t think it’s a good idea when you’re paying $15 for hamburger and some french fries to be able to see the people cooking your food. People know the food isn’t good for them already but they don’t need to see the cook making all this greasy food. When you look at the outside it looks like a classy joint but then you walk in there and it looks like a dump. The other reason for the three stars is the cost of the food. I could go to a chain restaurant like Applebee’s and get a hamburger and some french fries for $15 and be served regularly. I went with one other person and we walked out spending $35 and we each got a hamburger and some french fries and a drink. Listen, I get it.
