Consciousness Coffee is as much about fostering a welcoming community space as it is about making good coffee. Jason, the owner and sole employee, is soft-spoken, friendly, and goes out of his way to ensure a pleasant experience. He cares equally about the community and the individual, and it's clear he puts all of himself into the space for the betterment of everyone who visits.
The collaborative DIY art environment is showcased around the shop with paintings, handcrafted items, books, and various foods available for purchase, so you can support local artists and other small businesses in the area.
The regular weekly events add a much-needed social structure; offering poetry nights, art nights, video and board game nights, yoga, meditation, drag shows, art pop ups, even the occasional small concert. It's an excellent space to meet new people and have conversations that go deeper than face value, for anyone not interested in the normal bar scene.
It's not a stuffy corporate establishment, or even like similar shops that may provide a good product but silently usher you out the door. Consciousness Coffee has a DIY charm that anyone should feel comfortable in, and I hope everyone else can find the same meaning and value in the...
Read moreI went to this coffee shop because of all the good reviews it had, and wanted something other than Starbucks or anything I have tried. I really like small coffee shops, but the experience I had with consciousness coffee was very unpleasant. The service was good, but I didn’t understand how a a small caramel latte costs right around 8 dollars. I’ve never had a latte/coffee cost that much, i would rather go get a chick file meal for a dollar more with that money. My expectations for this coffee were high, especially because of the price being so high. And I was thoroughly disappointed. The coffee just tasted like an unpleasant espresso, the caramel tasted like nothing(it felt like they didn’t even add it to begin with). But they gave me a caramel candy with the drink? Idk why? I really do want my money back! They say they use “real” caramel but I didn’t know “real” caramel could taste that bad. For all new customers….please be “conscious” on how you spend your money on...
Read moreHappened across this by happenstance this morning and I couldn't have been happier to stop in. Newly opened and being built piece by piece with care, with GREAT coffee, and prices so reasonable you can't just get one! Several options of granolas, bars, and chocolates make sure you won't be hungry.
Got to meet with the owner, Jason, and have a chat with him about his new venture. Truly a proprietor who is passionate about their craft.
They have a variety of roasts from different sources, picked by Jason himself. Jason guided me through different selections and ended taking a few to go for my coworkers as well.
He didn't want a perfectly polished store at open, because he wants to share the journey of growth with the customers. Definitely a place that breaks the mold of a traditional coffee spot, in a good way!
Came in for a coffee, left with a new friend!
Definitely stop in and follow along and be a part of the journey and progression of this great new...
