Mr. D's Coffee — Restaurant in Lenexa

Coffe is good. Way too high priced for just a black coffee though. I also love a London Fog but $6!!! No thanks. Didn’t have food because I’m not a huge “sweet” eater. Atmosphere ok but this location was in busy Lenexa City Center market and so it was loud and I feel the flow of the facility was difficult to maneuver. Yeah it’s just a coffee counter but you actually have to know to walk clear around to what appears to be the back side to pick up drink. With no one telling you this! The counter w/food is cluttered or so high that it was hard for employees to see that I walked up. Very friendly employee waited on me this time. As opposed to first time there, 1 year ago. I had no idea where to order, as it was incredibly busy and everyone seemed scattered in job task. Finally after ordering, my drink sat and became luke warm because I was not told to walk clear around the counter to pick up my drink. None of them acknowledged my drink was sitting there ready nor acknowledged that I was just standing there clearly waiting at a diff section of the counter (like another individual). Finally I wandered to ask an employee how much longer (15min already) when she rudely pointed out my drink location. Did not offer apology or to even warm up. 2nd experience was much better. Mr. D’s is our favorite local donut shop in Johnson County! We regularly go in on Saturday or Sunday. Our younger kids get excited when they know their day will start with donuts from Mr. D’s. They are great about celebrating KC area sports teams with special donuts (Chiefs, Jayhawks) or special holiday donuts. Coffee is solid and they carry a local roasterie brand for purchase. You can also order specialty coffees. Service is consistently friendly! Fun environment if you have the chance to dine in since Mr. D’s is located in the Lenexa Public Market at City Center (an indoor area collective of several restaurants). Mr. Ds Coffee is a new coffee shop inside the Public Market at Lenexa City Center. I stopped by on my way to work to pick up a dozen donuts and an iced coffee. I am not a coffee drinker, but after tasting the Cinnamon Sugar Chilled Latte, I am hooked! I was greeted by their friendly staff and was asked to take my time and order when ready.

The coffee shop is an Asian owned business, and the owner was also hard at work, as a barista. They sell, not only coffee and donuts, but they have t-shirts and other items for sale.

The donuts are soft and fresh. I couldn’t believe the texture and hope I will not get addicted. You have to try this coffee shop – it will not disappoint...
