In the very most sincere sense of the word, mediocre is the most flattering adjective I can bestow upon Coffee Culture. While the atmosphere is quaint and welcoming, the coffee, along with the staff’s knowledge of its brewed varieties, is lackluster. I visited Coffee Culture for the first time on a cold morning with optimism. I was greeted by the barista upon entering, and she was knowledgeable of the menu items as I inquired of what was most popular. It was when I asked for a very common coffee drink called a “cafe au lait” (of which one would expect to find at any craft coffee shop) when my experience began to decline. The barista (presumably the owner?) started to describe in question form to me what she thought a cafe au lait might be. It was not what she thought, so I said “I’ll just have a drip coffee”. The only drip option was a Vienna Coffee brand called Stone…. something or other. I’m not sure if the blend she served me was supposed to be as weak as earl grey tea, or if there was simply an error in the brewing process that morning. Whatever the case, I could taste the minerals in the tap water over the extracted flavor from the coffee. Also, and perhaps this is just my personal preference, coffee should be served piping hot - this one was not. This, combined with the lack of knowledge of basic coffee drinks, is enough to drive my future percolatory...
Read moreThe consistency of this place is fantastic, the coffee tastes the same no matter who’s making it- delicious as always, the friendliness of the staff is always on point, knowledge of products and questions is always on point. I drink coffee everyday, I always would prefer to support small and local businesses over chains, however the only other small coffee business is subpar at best, forcing me to choose Dunkin or Starbucks. Coffee Culture has now taken priority over any coffee shop-whether local or chain in this county or any surrounding counties. The flavor & quality of coffee, espresso, and syrups is phenomenal. The different flavor options & combinations not only available on the menu but the ability to make your own flavor as well is one of the biggest drives of my business. Thank you so much for being a local business this town can be proud of!
The ONLY downside for me is having to use an app for the loyalty. Because I have switched to going here everyday I’d love to enjoy racking up rewards and free drinks, however my iCloud hasn’t updated in so long that my phone warns me about how much info I’ll lose if anything happens-long story short I can’t get...
Read moreI came to Coffee Culture because I wanted to try something new… and they did NOT disappoint. As Chloe (the co-founder) made me a delicious coffee, I asked her about the shop. She painted a lovely picture about her years worth of experience in the coffee game, starting a family owned business with her Mom, and how they want to make a lasting impression within their community. It’s fair to say that i’m extremely impressed with how far this new business has come. The coffee is balanced and sweet without overcompensating with sugar. They also have wonderful pastries, sandwiches and other foods as well. I've never been to a coffee shop that cared so much about what they do, especially in Tennessee where it seems as though the art of coffee is still developing. This place definitely deserves way more support than what it's getting right now. You’ll be glad you found this hole-in-the-wall gem. To the owners, Chloe & Karen: Thank you for all the great service and care. Not only will I be telling all my friends about you, but you can expect my regular visit from this point moving...
