I give this place a NEGATIVE 5!!! Walked in, place smells musty, no doubt due to the carpeted floor. The female who seated us could barely keep her eyes open. My first comment to my family "If she's our server I'm requesting a new server"...fortunately for us, so we thought, we had a different server. Well when the server walked up to our table, low and behold he could barley keep his eyes open either!!! He puts a pile of silverware on the corner of the table, the top napkin is dirty. No big deal right! So I just take the dirty napkin off. Now he comes back over to take our order. We order our drinks & dinner all at the same time. He walks over to the computer (directly across from our table) put our entire order in. Goes to a dirty table and proceeds to clean the table off including wiping it down with the cleaning products. Meanwhile, we are still waiting for our drinks. Now he is sat 3 more parties. He proceeds to start taking the next parties order....still waiting for our drinks!!!! Great here come our drinks...would have been great if all 5 of us got our drinks, but 1 was missing, well not missing but instead of an adult size which is was what was ordered it was a kiddos drink!! Again no big deal, it's drinkable! Food came out in pretty reasonable time, what a shocker! Unfortunately we were a party of 5 and only 4 meals were brought to the table. The server decides it would be a wise idea to go take the order of the next party he got. Walks by our table to put that next order in the computer and asks "how is everything", the 5th person in our party still has not recieved her plate! So being the smartasses that we can be, the person with no plate says "it's really good"...must have sparked his memory bcuz he responds "oh let me go get your grill cheese, it must be ready now".... He comes back out from the kitchen, clearly multitasking at this point, with a few plates. Walks past our table, serves the table behind us, and then comes back over and says "oh and your grill cheese" as he puts the plate on the table. As this is going on parties are continuously being seated "in his section". There appears to be 3 maybe 4 servers working but oddly only his section is being sat. As we are eating our dinner, the Manager comes over to our server, yes in the dining room, and starts questioning him as to why he has all the parties and no one else has a party. So because I know the manager from "the neighborhood" let's just say, I call her over to our table by her name! I tell her "in his defense he is not the one seating the parties" she brushes it off and says "oh I know, but he gets himself in trouble like this often"....how is it his fault that 6 parties came into the restaurant and all were sat in his section not by him??!!?? Again no big deal not really my problem!!! We got there just a little after 7pm and by 830 had to ask that our kids ice cream be packed to go home. We never got our check, my sister just used the little payment kiosk on the table. Now to leave a tip....well I waited at the front counter for just a little over 10 minutes just to ask if my large bill could be broken down into smaller bills. After my wait and 5 parties at the door being seated the Manager asks what I need. She proceeds to tell me I can ask the server to make change because they have their own monies. Not a big deal right, well with the exception of the fact that our server was standing at the pick up window and the Manager could have told him his party was looking for him. Nope that didn't happen!!!! I go stand back at my table waiting to spot the server! About 5 minutes goes by and my sister sees the server so tells him I'm looking for him! He comes over apologizes for never getting us our check. I tell him its not a big deal, we just want to give him a tip. Our bill was about $50 and we left him an 18%+tip $10!!! The reason for our tip was not because we had good service and/or a good experience but we ourselves have been servers in the past and lets face reality....Servers live off the tips they make!!! NEVER AGAIN...
Read moreLast night my wife and I decided that we were going to go out to eat with two of our good friends. We ended up going to the Friendly's on 482 N Main St, in Leominster Mass. When we arrived a girl wiping menus down told us that it was going to be a few minutes because they had to clean some tables off. (we all looked around and there were plenty of tables open, but that was just the start) So after about ten minutes of standing in the doorway she finally brought us to a table. A female server (I can't remember her name, but you could tell she did not know what she was doing) got us our drinks pretty quickly and we needed a few more minutes to decide what we wanted to eat. Finally we waved her down and we ordered our food. My friend and I got the BBQ double burger with loaded waffle fries, and both ladies got super melts. After about 45 minutes of waiting (which the restaurant was pretty slow at this point) we finally got our food. Then we began to eat. As my friend and I got to the bottom of our waffle fries we noticed on both of our plates a puddle of grease. (Like the cook dumped the fries right from the fryer basket to the plate) So we began to look for napkins, which the waitress never provided, the same with cutlery. So we are sitting here with greasy fingers and nothing to clean them with.(we should have just left then, but we continued to eat) The burgers were both equally as greasy, like the top of the bun and all, and still no napkins. So my wife accidently spills a drink and who I believe to be the manager finally brought us a stack of napkins, and apologized for the girl "because it was her first day". Clearly if it someone's first day and they can't provide us with the tools to eat at the beginning of our experience, she should still be shadowing someone. (but I digress) So we clean up the mess and finish eating. As we wait for the waitress we noticed this elderly couple who were sitting next to us get up and walk out. Whoever their waiter was gave them two glasses of water and never came back to see what they wanted to eat. We felt pretty bad for them as well. Shortly after they left a different waitress came to our table and asked if we wanted to place and order for some food. We all looked at her confused and told her that we had already ate. (she was supposed to be helping the elderly couple) So about ten minutes after we finish eating the waitress finally comes back to ask if we wanted ice cream. (which was the main reason we even came to Friendly's in the first place) So we placed the order for that as well, and began to wait again. After about twenty minutes of waiting we tried to flag down multiple waitresses to just get the check, but they all just ignored us, like we did not exist. So we just wait for the ice cream. It finally comes (half melted) and we just eat it quick and leave. Not even an hour after we left three of us started to not feel very well. So we ended up parting ways for the night. I spoke with my friends this morning and one of them was up all night puking, and so was I. The other friend was up all night with stomach pain. I am not exactly sure what the training protocols are for Friendly's, but clearly they are not enforced. This is the worst experience I have ever had at any of these restaurants, and I can 100% guarantee that I will not return to this location...
Read moreI had been here several times in my past five years. The restaurant was quite satisfying me until last Saturday. And I WILL NOT GO HERE ANYMORE because of this single very unpleasant experience.
I visited here on December 11th. We came there at about 7:30 p.m., and there were a plenty of empty space to seat, but we were said to wait about 3 mins for "clean-up" the table. If the restaurant was full of customers, this made sense. But only a couple of tables were used at that point. The reason why we were asked to wait for cleaning up was shown in the second photo. They do not clean the table at all. They started to clean it only after the new customers came. Isn't it normal to clean the table right after the customers left?
The next stuff was the time for food to be prepared. I heard that those who sit behind us said "We've been waiting for fxxxking 45 minutes." Well.. I do not know if they really waited for 45 minutes or not, but at least their talking was credible because we also waited about 40 minutes for food.
And the quality of the food? photo 3 is the supermelt steak and cheese sandwich I had in this location, and the photo 4 is the same menu that I just ordered from different friendly's location. GRILLED DOES NOT MEAN TO BURN THE BREAD. Bread was soggy because of oil or butter or whatever they used, it was burnt. Worst steak and cheese sandwich I ever had in 30 years of my life. Also the taste of drink(coke) was terrible. It was totally blend and tasteless that we visited McDonald's to enjoy best coke ever. Thank you for letting us to feel that McDonald's coke is the best.
FIrst picture? it just shows that they do not properly clean the plate. I thought it was just gravy sauce on mashed potatoes, which two of my group ordered, spilled beneath the plate while being served. If it was gravy, I could understand. our plates were close enough when a waiter/waitress hold them on a tray. BUT surprisingly, it was fxxking barbaeque sauce that any of us ordered at all. Well.. I haven't known that Friendly's freely provide BBQ sauce under plate for customers.
Also, we were not asked if anything was good or we need something else or any sentences from the waiter/waitress. (Actually we considered to have ice cream when we were heading here, but thanks to nobody's coming to ask, we saved our money.)
I do understand that a few hours before the closing at the restaurant is exhausting time for both kitchen workers and waiters. I myself worked as a waiter while I was in college, so I am fully aware of it. However, these things that I and my students underwent was totally nonsense and very uncomfortable.
They took off the cost of beverage from our bill saying for delayed service. I appreciate that. But unfortunately, late service was not the only problem on that Saturday.
So the result is this. 1. we came in at 7:30 and left at 9:30. During two hours in this place, about 40 minutes were for food, one and a one third hour is waiting. 2. the food itself was trash. 3. the attitude of waiter/waitress was the worst, and the restaurant was messy.
I want this review helps you if you consider...
