Taco Cabana — Restaurant in Leon Valley

The food is usually good, not great. However it is the customer service that is the real let down here. Have been here 5 times, and only once have I gotten the order I requested correctly. The first experience with them was a taco bowl full of charred, overcooked steak. The last time I was there was to use a coupon I got in the mail. It is the only time I have used the drive thru, and it was terrible. The list on the intercom said she would be right back, and want back on for 5-6 minutes. When she finally took the order she was very rushed. We told her that we wanted the buy a plate get a plate for $1 deal, and we wanted brisket and chicken fajita. She gave us no opportunity to order drinks. She immediately said she would have the total at the window. I tried to request a drink, she repeated that she would have the drink at the window. When we got to the window the order was wrong, not only was it for the wrong plates, but it didn't have the coupon applied either. Once we got the food, we realized they didn't supply forks or napkins. The top of one of the to go boxes was covered in refried beans. In the end I had to go inside anyways, so the drive thru was pointless. When I went in I did find out why the last working the intercom took so long to respond, she was standing there chatting with one of her co-workers. i loved going to taco cabana before the pandemic, but now it’s a last resort option. i ordered ahead for pickup, so i was expecting my food to be cold (that’s on me), but as so as i walked into the lobby an overwhelming smell of raw sewage was wafting through. I wanted to walk out right then and there, but i needed to eat because of a medical condition and because this was a last resort and desperately needed to eat, I endured the smell. I walked up to the cashiers and nobody was there, so i looked to see of someone was in drive-thru that i could wave or call out to, but the person had their headset on while cooking food, so it would be hard to grab their attention (my family works in fast food so i understand). I waited for a couple of minutes and then I sensed someone walking behind me. I’m not sure where he came from but he kindly directed me to my order.

Again, I was expecting my food to be cold, but the overall quality was just disappointing. I got the ground beef nachos with queso and no refried beans, and the portion was so tiny. Usually, it’s almost like a mountain of chips with the toppings, but there were barely more chips there than a small chip bag. Taco cabana used to have a standard of quality, but now it’s like they forgot what that name means to texans. Overall I’m just sad that this company is no longer one I...

Im not eating food due to additude from female staff member with black eyeglasses and tattoos all over her arms. I waited 4 min. By register and place was empty. Finally I guess I got the attention of this staff member. She seen me and came 30 seconds later. The staff member walked slowly with a flat affect face. So I was not wanting to overwhelm her with questions about the menu because her body language she seemed tired. So I politely asked her if she was tired. Immediately her face was distorted. She said no quietly. It was awkward. So I asked her about a promotion and then ordered food. I asked her again u ok. She then gave additude saying " you said I look tired. That means your saying I look like SHIT! " omg! I was not expecting to get cussed at for being observant to her and not wanting to overwhelm her, I get cursed at...I thence apologized I said no I did not mean that in that way. I meant it as u are busy. She still mad dogged me. So I said you know what I'll go over here and won't ask for anything else. So I waited 10 min. I glanced over I seen her but no bag. And then she started to walk over. I said I could have gotten it she handed bag over turned around and walked off...so ya I wasted my money because im not eating this food. She probly tampered with...
