The food used to be a lot better but now seems no one cares about the quality or consistency. What I mean to say by that is that you definitely need to strive to maintain consistently great food, service, and value. The lady who owns the place is very rude and they cook too much food at one time to put on the steam table so not to have to cook more often. I have been a restaurant manager for 27 years and at my last job ran a huge buffet, so this is my area of expertise. It's much better to cook less at a time, as when the food sits under the hot lights on the steam table it's in essence still cooking, not to mention the boiling hot water underneath the food. The longer the heaping amount of food sits, the worse it becomes. This rings true especially with the fried items. My husband and I love sushi rolls and when we go to a Chinese restaurant we are primarily going for the rolls but that's definitely not the case with this particular restaurant as never in my life have I had fried chicken in a sushi roll! They are probably trying to save money by doing this but it's a big failure! We have decided we would rather drive 20 or 30 extra miles to go to a place that we know is consistently good. I do not...
Read moreI was very disappointed with this restaurant. There were several reasons why. They used disposable plates and silverware. I never did find a knife, therefore, I didn't eat several pieces of meat, I had no way to cut it up. I think if you're going to have a restaurant and it's not fast food, at least give us washable plates and silverware. They had a note up asking you to use gloves when taking food from the bar. I noticed several employees didn't abide by the rule. Neither did most of the guest's, understandable why! They were continually having customers. I thought it was very expensive considering how much we ate. We ordered water instead of spending an extra $4 on drink's. No one ever came to see if anything was needed! I was excited to see they had sherbet ice cream, I helped myself to a good helping because I love it. I share a freezer/refrigerator with three other girls, so there's no where to put ice cream. Well... it wasn't sherbet after all. It was colored vanilla ice cream! As we exited there was no statement thanking us for coming or asking we return. I had thought I'd give Chinese food one more try since I love it so much. I'll buy the boxes at Walmart and cook it in...
Read moreI ordered online and when I got there, they had given my order to someone else and when they handed me mine after telling them all. Not only my name, but what my order was. They knew they were handing me the wrong thing and did anyways.Because I ordered vegetables And sauce and fried rice. They handed me chicken and white rice And even said, oh yeah, you wanted sauce on the side. It's on the side, even though there was no sauce. In that order at all anyways, so I don't get what's going on, but I'll just take the extra 7 minutes and drive to Columbia to China King from Now on. This is my first and last visit to this place. It's definitely not worth it at all. I'm sure the food might be good if they don't have to be ill about having to remake your order. Because you don't want what they gave you you want, what you ordered? Because it cost twice as much as the food they gave you. I spent $30 on something and got an $8 order. Price is not worth the amount you get. China king gives you a lot more for your money. Anybody else reading this? Takes a little bit of extra time and go to China. King on nashville highway in columbia, a thousand...
