Tl;Dr - Food was overpriced and tasted horrid.
First off, I came in expecting the famously reviewed Indian food from this restaurant just to be told the Indian chef quit and they no longer serve Indian food because of that...? Maybe that should've been my reason to leave. Instead i ordered drinks to buy time to look over the thai menu. I ordered the mango lassi and my fiance ordered the strawberry boba. The lassi had fresh mango in it for sure, but it tasted like a diluted mix of unripe mango with what tasted like sour milk.
The boba was horrid!!! it was like drinking store-bought strawberry milk with tapioca pearls, not to mention you couldn't even drink the pearls since the straw was too thin for it to push through.
The appetizer we ordered was the veggie spring roll shrimp. It was a good size, it looked and tasted fresh and had 3 shrimp in each roll, but the sauce provided wouldnt even stick to the roll and youd have to dip it in the sauce like a chip in salsa.
The entree / main meal we ordered was the red coconut curry with chicken and tofu for 20$ and the pineapple deep fried fish for 25$. We waited what felt like half an hour for our food. The red curry was so watery you'd think it was a soup instead, the portion of rice was not enough for the soup of curry that was served to me and expected to be finished with. The curry itself did not look red but was a light pink, the chicken looked and tasted like it had been dropped into the curry raw and boiled, the tofu thankfully was fried beforehand and dropped into the curry after frying but the ratio of veggie to protein was a solid 1:3. The curry itself tasted so sweet because of the sheer amount of coconut overpowering what is supposed to be a curry causing it to become a soup it almost had me nauseous.
Moving on to my fiances fish dish. It was genuinely good, no complaints to the flavor but the ratio was again a 1:3 for protein and veggies.. 25$ for 4 pieces of fried fish and a bunch of vegetables with no rice served either felt like a complete scam.
Just to make note, the menu is completely different from the images taken 2 months ago and the pictures provided on the menu looked nothing at all like what was served to us. Everything on the menu has been inflated in price.
The only good thing to come out of this restaurant are the servers. Our server made sure we had everything we needed and checked up on us multiple times and apologized for any delays multiple times. But the...
Read moreI’ve been to Siam numerous times and they were always busy every time I dined in. The service was slower as expected from the busyness but it had never been as bad as my experience on Friday (6/28/19). My friend and I were seated fairly quickly (within 5 mins) of arriving because there was no one waiting before us. Once seated, it took at least 15 minutes for a waitress to come over. The waitress over came over only after my friend walked up to the hostess counter to say that we were not waited on at all. The kicker is that within those 15 minutes, two waitresses walked right up to our table because the table next to us was an arms length away and they had just gotten their meals. I was confused as to how we were being ignored as other guests behind us waiting to be seated... was seated, ordered their drinks and had their drinks at their table before anyone acknowledged we were even sitting there.
We debated whether to leave since we had been waiting for so long but given we were 15 minutes in, we thought we would give it a chance and understand how busy the restaurant was. Things got worse. The simplest, most basic Thai iced tea was bland and watered down. Even after the second time the waitress remade it, it was still bland. I’ve had it here before but it wasn’t like this. The food finally came out 1 hour 20 minutes after we had been seated. Why was my food just warm? Did I wait 1 hour plus for my food to come out warm? What is happening to Siam? Why is the quality of the food and service going down?
I was extremely dissatisfied with my waitress who kept saying “We were busy. We were busy.” If you were busy then why did two families who sat down at their table at least 10 minutes after us get serviced before us? They had their drinks and food at their table before our meal even came out. Is it because both families were Caucasian and we’re not? Does the waitress need sensitivity training? I am concerned with the lack of service I received whether it was intentional or not. I work in town where I recommend your establishment as a place to eat for visitors and after my experience on Friday, you will not be on that list. It left a sour taste in my mouth with regards to the food and experience. Please reevaluate your waiting staff and protocols. I am very disappointed with my experience. It will take me a long time before...
Read moreThe food is 5 stars. However, every time we've eaten here (both dine in and take out) the service was terrible. On one occasion, we had made a reservation for outdoor seating. The hostess checked us in and went to see if our table was ready. As we waited, another group entered and a waitress came up to the hostess stand. They asked about outdoor seating and she told them to just go grab a seat outside. They took our reserved table. We ended up leaving that night because we couldn't wait for another table to open up. Thus the reservation.
On another occasion we entered without a reservation and were promptly seated inside. We sat for roughly 30 minutes with the menus the hostess gave us before a waiter came up and told us he'd be right with us. In the time we sat, 3 other tables were sat, ordered drinks, and ordered food. We left without ordering anything.
On the one occasion we stayed, we were sat outdoors and we waited almost 20 minutes before anyone came to our table. The food came out about half an hour after that. It was delicious! But the staffing is atrocious.
Ordering ahead and picking up is an option, but every time we have we've been told our food is ready only to arrive and wait another 30 minutes to get it. I don't want to hate this place, the food is so good. But the service is...
