Only about a mile from the Bates campus, this spot is tucked in behind some other businesses. Luckily, some locals gave me a tip to stop by and I did. Completely unpretentious but absolutely perfect, this spot captured the essence of Maine. It’s a pub that is popular with locals, creating an authentic pub experience but the food is decidedly upscale while still consistent with the atmosphere. You can see how hard every single person was working to make sure that we had the best experience possible…from lobster rolls to simple salads, everything was perfectly executed and delicious. Can’t praise them enough for capturing the essence of Maine. Unpretentious, hard working, traditional Maine style without pretending to be anything else. Absolutely love this spot and it’s clear that there are a crowd of locals who have formed a loyal following. Been regulars for a bit and honestly enjoyed coming here we finally met the owner and she was as rude as possible right off the bat. Tried arguing that I didn’t look anything like my ID and just kept repeating it insult even trying to ask for another form of ID. You would think the owner would be more intelligent or as intelligent than her servers but this was definitely not the case. We will not be attending this place again because of her specifically and if she treats all of her younger looking customers like children I doubt this place will ever thrive… great first...

Look this place is a place you would really want to visit. The staff does everything to remember your first name think of being a norm on cheers, that’s how they want to greet you, drink your usual waiting for you. The boss is so amazing.
