I really wanted to like Webster Street Convenience, but after some bad experiences, I'm not returning. They have had limited hours (which may have changed now, but I'm not going back to find out) which made it hard to be a customer--when I finally was able to go on a weekday, the breakfast takeout was decent overall and the corned beef hash sandwich was especially good, so I decided to return when I had a weekday off again. I attempted to order seafood, and they were out of everything. I tried again on a different day--same story. After a third try, I was able to get my order, and it was soggy by the time I got it home. I let a few months pass, and I called to order the has breakfast sandwich again--the person answering the phone hung up on me without replying. I called back assuming we were disconnected. When I began to order the sandwich I was cut off abruptly with a loud, rude "NO WE DON'T MAKE BREAKFAST PAST 11." Huh? I never saw that anywhere, but I guess I just missed the memo. I tried ordering something else and I was cut off again: "NO, WE'RE SOLD OUT." I attempted to order a third item. "NO" was all I was told. I finally just hung up. I live really close by and I was initially excited to have a decent small business to go to for food. I'm tired of trying to give this place my money. I'd give their service 0 stars if I could. Good luck...
Read moreI went in today after getting a door dash delivery last week. I placed my order on the phone the guy was super nice even though I had to repeat myself because I kept getting my own order wrong! ( Thank you recreational marijuana ). Sometimes when you place your order over the phone, people can be super grumpy, especially if you stumble over your words. Which I do a lot, because I have anxiety, and there's been so many times you can tell the person on the other end of the phone is (understandably ) annoyed and I won't get the order I intended. But this guy who actually turned out to be the cook, was super nice and took the time to make sure that I wasn't ordering something extra by mistake. "Your order already comes with hash browns did you want additional hash browns on the side?" / "The sausages, did you want them inside the omelette or on the side?" Things like that when they probably have orders coming in left and right really make a difference. It's easy to forget that for some people, that meal will be the highlight of their day. It might be the only thing to eat that day and they stretch it out. So thank you, Mr....
Read moreI just ordered here from doordash and was so excited to get it. Unfortunately the fried scallop dinner was packaged very poorly so it was like a box full of sopping wet mush. So disappointing at 28$ per plate. Im really not trying to be critical maliciously, I just think it’s constructive to offer suggestions for better packaging fried items if they are going to offer doordash.
Edit: I think just blaming doordash is a bit unprofessional. The scallops were on top of the fries in a little box with no ventilation, napkins and tied in a plastic bag. Everything inside was wet. When you fry food and send it out for delivery, there will always be some quality loss due to heat condensation .. it would help to add some ventilation and package it separately from the fries. For 28$ the food was inedible.
Doordash is only responsible for getting food from point A to point B, so knowing that, plan for it and package accordingly is all I’m suggesting. I order fried food from doordash all the time and it’s not soaked...
