Tired of paying outrageous prices for hotels with terrible service, I decided to switch things up for my birthday this year, so I booked a room at the Ramada. It was a HUGE MISTAKE!
I originally called to reserve a room A MONTH in advance. I booked a suite for $30 more then the regular rooms and was told that I would have a king size bed and a pull out couch. When I arrived however, they gave me one of their regular room which was tiny and had two full size beds. They switched me around a bit but none of the rooms were as promised. I wasn’t able to resolve this issue because apparently when I called to reserve the room, they didn’t actually reserve a room number for me so I was left with whatever was available at that time... That didn’t stop them from charging me the full price of the suite I was supposed to receive. The beds are beat! They look like they needed to be replaced 10 years ago. Thank god I didn’t end up staying because sleeping on those things would have been an absolute nightmare.
I also made a point when I called to reserve and again when I checked in, that I was only there to enjoy the hot tub and I asked several times if their hot tub was up and running. I was told it was. Shortly after checking in, I went to check out the hot tub... it was half empty and it was cold. I called the front desk to complain and they said they were having maintenance go fix it and they would call my room when it was finished. The issue never got fixed. At 8PM, I went to see the hot tub again... Still ice cold. I go to the front desk to find out what’s going on and they let me know that maintenance has already left despite the fact that they had had several complaints about the hot tub that night. Real professional...
As disappointed as I was, I tried to make the best of the situation and thought, maybe a nice hot bath will do... this is when I found out my shower didn’t even work. I had no running water! At this point, I want out. I go to the desk to see what can be done. At this point, I could have saved the extra money and had a better bed to sleep in if I packed up and went to the motel 6. I was offered a measly 30% discount.
As far as I’m concerned, when a company makes this many mistakes and false promises, they should be taking some sort of responsibility. But as usual, I was promised a great stay and I was left absolutely ripped off. I couldn’t bear stay in that place for the night so it ended up being the most expensive 5 hour stay of my life.
I certainly won’t be visiting again. This place is an absolute joke. Don’t...
Read moreIf I could give this place a zero star review, I would. This was the worst Ramada hotel I have ever stayed in. It was probably the worst hotel ever in my experience. For $195 for one night + tax, I would have expected the quality and service to be much higher.
Overall, the property is not maintained well. The website claims it was newly renovated in 2018. I don't know what was specifically renovated, but it was clearly not the guest rooms. Our guest room bathroom was dirty with signs of clear water damage. The grout and other areas within the shower were supposed to be white. Instead, it was dark and rust-colored. Very dated hotel. I now understand why there are no pictures of the bathrooms on the website because it would not be a selling point. Dirty floors and dusty areas in the room indicated some parts of it had not been cleaned in a long time. In addition, the pool was extremely cloudy indicating a lack of proper maintenance in the pool and hot tub area. I wish I had researched reviews of this hotel before our stay. There are multiple negative reviews similar to mine indicating these are ongoing issues for this property.
In addition, when I booked the hotel there was an ad with a link to the Ramada by Wyndham Lewiston, Maine that stated "Enjoy Free Breakfast" at that location. I clicked on the link to book the room. However, we were charged $33.96 for the breakfast buffet. We have stayed in other Ramada's in the past where it was free so we were very surprised. Classic bait-and-switch. When we asked the front desk at checkout why we were being charged, they said it wasn't free. When we told them multiple times that it said "free breakfast" online, they said the restaurant is separate from the hotel and there was nothing they could do. They refused multiple times to refund the money. That ad was still running online after we stayed there.
I contacted Wyndham Corporate and they said they would pass along this feedback to the hotel. Instead of refunding money for the breakfast, they credited rewards points to my account. Total waste since my family and I have no plans to ever stay at another Ramada or any other Wyndham property...
Read moreThought it was abandoned when we first pulled up. The outside is very rundown. My 2 rooms for the week was supposed to be $1500 total but they wanted $1800.Not handicap accessible as I was traveling with 2 elderly people one disabled. The first room I was in the shower didn't work, they moved us to connecting rooms with the 2 elderly people I was traveling with, which I wanted in the first place. Then there was mold on our shower curtains and in the shower. The bed was comfy but the pillows were stained and gross. The pool is not handicap accessible so the other people I was traveling with couldn't use the pool. The hot tub didn't work. Neither did the sauna. the bathroom in the pool room was disgusting and no toilet paper. There is mold on the walls and the ceiling of the pool room. Someone got sick by the hot tub and the just cleaned it up with towels and didn't sanitize it. I'm pretty sure they would have thrown the puke towels in the basket if people were not in the pool. The pool is not properly marked for depth 6 feet is more like 7 feet and 8 feet is more like 9-10 feet. Someone stole an disabled elderly man's car keys and the staff did nothing. The person who stole the keys kept setting the alarm off thinking it was funny. The poor man had to call someone on a Saturday night to have it disconnected. There were people fighting across the hall from us, he threatened to kill his girlfriend and the staff did nothing. There was a hole in the other room I rented, looked like someone punched the wall. I told the front desk and they said they would have someone fix it the next day and it still wasn't fixed by the time we checked out. The door in my room was falling off the hinge they sent someone to fix it but they didn't fix it right and it kept happening, so we had lift up to close it completely and those doors are very heavy. The hallway smelled old and musty. In my opinion this place needs to be shut down and remodeled. I will not be going back here.i don't recommend this place to anyone. It is the worst place I've...
