Bojangles in Lewisville: Good Food, But Service & Kiosk Glitches Need Work
I stopped by the new Bojangles franchise in Lewisville for lunch, curious to see what it was like. While the food itself has potential, the initial experience was definitely a bit clunky.
My first interaction was with the two ordering kiosks. The interface was very clunky and not intuitive at all, making the process frustratingly slow. I had to go through my order three or four times, repeatedly getting messages to "fix the modifier" on items I'd already clearly selected. This automated process also felt very impersonal, and I'm personally not a fan of that, as I much prefer direct human interaction when ordering.
While waiting for my food, I tried to fill my drink cup, only to find the tea container was empty. Then I noticed the napkin dispenser was also empty. When my food did arrive, I ended up having to ask the server for napkins, which they promptly provided. These small service details definitely detracted from the experience.
On the positive side, the food was quite good! The tenders were actually very juicy and flavorful, and the fries were great. Price-wise, I thought it was comparable to Raising Cane's.
Overall, while the food hits the mark, Bojangles needs to smooth out its ordering kiosks and stay on top of basic dining room upkeep. As it stands, I'm not sure I'd go out of my way for one over a Raising Cane's, but the tenders were certainly...
Read moreThis is my first time trying Bojangles. I went through the drive thru although the inside looked very welcoming and clean.
The chicken tenders are big and crunchy! I love me some crunchy chicken. They have just a tiny hint of spice to them but nothing that would turn you off if you don’t like spicy. The inside meat was tender and clearly real chicken and not some kind of pressed stuff.
The biscuit that came with the meal was so fluffy on the inside with a nice buttery crust on the outside. I can’t wait to try these biscuits with some of their sausage gravy!
I got the fries as my side and they are very tasty and similar to a steak fry cut but thinner and a bit smaller. They were very good and I will definitely get them again.
I always try coleslaw at any place I have never tried it before. It was delicious! The sauce was not overwhelming and the veggies were crisp and crunchy. I haven’t found a coleslaw lately that I would give a try a second time and this one is now on my list to have again and again.
Sweet tea was good - nothing so outstanding I would stop by just for a drink but a very nice addition to the meal that I purchased and much better than drinking a soda.
I will put them on my list to visit again and I think they will be my go to if I want chicken tenders for sure. I didn’t mind the ranch dip but I think I would rather have them with a honey mustard dip or the gravy. I hope that you will...
Read moreUpdated: as of 3 hours after I ate the meal, I went home and vomited it up. Something was wrong with it. Whether it be the lettuce or the chicken. I won't be going back. First off, the price to portion ratio isn't that great. A small fry, the sandwich and a small drink was 11.57. this meal looks to be worth 8 bucks at most.
The sandwich was okay. Nothing to write home about. Reminded me of the grilled chicken from Whataburger. The Mayo gave it most of the flavor. It was juicy, but that was it. The lettuce in the sandwich was shredded. The picture on the menu shows a lettuce leaf. It was incredibly messy in a car.
The fries were the star of the show. They weren't half bad. It tasted like a bowling alley fry, but well seasoned. Savory and almost BBQ seasoned.
The lemonade was pretty tart and pretty sweet. I had to water it down with my death water to take it down a notch.
Overall, it's alright. I was curious to go, and not from the area, but I think I'll stick with...
