Bourbon n' Toulouse — Restaurant in Lexington

Never have I received such consistently amazing customer service in my life. This restaurant is not only my favorite of all time because of the AMAZING food, but also because the consistently go above and beyond for everyone. Quick story...

I came in for lunch on a Thursday and was excited to try the peanut sauce for the first time, unfortunately it was not on rotation that day but they assured me it was going to be made on Monday! So I come back on Monday and its on the board, but its sold out (because it's that good). I wasn't too upset because I can always find something else on the menu that will for sure leave me feeling fat and happy! But the team that was working began making another batch if I was willing to wait 30 min! So I waited and was greeted by the sweetest individual, Keith, who thanked me for being a regular and was overjoyed that I was willing to wait for their food! I had to go to work unfortunately, but I was sent off with a QUART of rice, a QUART of peanut sauce, and loads of their amazing bread! I was in shock, I only paid for a full order of the peanut sauce (~$8)!

We stopped at Bourbon n’ Toulouse and absolutely loved it! I had the jambalaya, and my partner tried the 1/2 & 1/2 with sausage and red beans & rice and crawfish étouffée. Every dish is served over rice, except the jambalaya where the rice is cooked right in, which made it extra hearty and flavorful.

The process is simple—you walk up to the counter to order, then they call your name when your food is ready. The service was quick and friendly, and we really appreciated the variety on the menu. They offer several gluten-free, dairy-free, and even vegan options, which makes it a great spot for all kinds of diets.

The amount of food for the price was incredible—my full entrée was only $9 and the 1/2 & 1/2 was just $11. So affordable for such an incredibly flavorful and filling meal. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the portions were generous.

I came by today for a late lunch since I've heard so many things about this place from coworkers and people whom I've met from Lexington. The interior is a funky vibe, and lots of decoration on every wall and corner of this place; there are plenty of tables and seats if you want to dine. As for me, I ordered takeout to eat in my car (lol). [I brought my dog with me, and I hate leaving him in the car or sitting outside since it is much hotter today compared to the last few days' weather].

I ordered the restaurant's famous chicken etouffee and a Diet Coke. I was not as hungry as I thought, but I wanted to try this place. The etouffee was good but needed more rice and protein in it. I mostly had the sauce and less meat, which I was looking forward to as I ordered a full plate.
