Charlie's Seafood & Carry-Out Restaurant — Restaurant in Lexington

After many many years eating their fish sandwich today I ate my last one. Never have I seen a place to eat go down as fast as this. To start with today when I arrived I noticed an extreme smell of fish in the parking lot which had never been there before, then I placed my order with a cashier whose attitude was like “Do I have to serve you”. I ordered my favorite large fish sandwich and proceeded to my car. I was there at 12:30 and only 4 cars in their lot. When I opened my sandwich I noticed it was very greasy (this usually happens when the frying oil has not been replaced or filtered when needed. The fish seemed thicker but had a very chewy texture, almost as if it was a cheaper cut. I noticed the skin on one of my pieces of fish ( this is a sign of cheaper fish and bad taste). Lexington has lost an icon of many years. I really hate to se that this...

This has absolutely been one of my family's go-to spots when we're in Lexington and wanting seafood...For anyone who's never been here...When you order the Whitefish sandwich, you'd better hope you're hungry! This monster piece of fish is a foot long or more, easily making it suitable for making more than just the one sandwich...But the way its cooked, the taste...You'll find yourself devouring it completely before you have time to split it. Its SO good!

Charlie's has all sorts of seafood on their menu, but all we've ever gotten is the regular sandwiches, along with their catfish a few times which was damn good as well. Trust me, you'll NEVER, ever regret going to Charlie's, no matter WHAT it is you plan on getting. Charlie's, by far is one of the best seafood houses that I and my family have had the pleasure of checking out.

Absolutely the worst meal that I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. I ordered the white fish special dinner and paid $11.75. I received 3 skimpy lightly breaded pieces of fish that were totally bland (no flavor), crinkle cut french fries that were underfried and soggy, 1 small cup (homemade) cole slaw that was the worst I have ever tried to eat. This is the absolute worst meal I have ever received from any retail food establishment in Lexington. I totally wasted my hard earned money. I should have gone to Captain D's or Long John Silver's if I wanted a really good tasting meal with fish. I threw 90% of this meal in the trash. I would really like a refund of my money, however I know that is not going to happen. I highly DO NOT recommended this business. NEVER again will I grace...
