Overall a poor experience. I don't even want to eat the leftovers because they remind me of it.
We arrived at 1pm on Sunday and our party of 4 was seated promptly. That was the only prompt thing about our experience. It took a bit long to get our drink orders, but nothing too shocking, and the food orders went in a bit after that. We then waited for over an hour to get our food.
45 minutes into the food wait our waitress asked if we wanted 3 out of the 4 dishes served now while we waited on the Fajitas; the 3 were already done and had been sitting under the heat lamps for several minutes. Apparently Fajitas take extra, extra long? We said "Yeah, bring it on" and off the waitress went. 15 minutes later, nothing.
During this time our waitress was apologizing for the wait and doing what she could to get our food. So a few minutes later 3 of the 4 dishes come out, still no Fajitas, and one dish was so hot from the heat lamp our waitress couldn't pick it up. My Chipotle bowl looked kind of sad and did not take the 20+ minutes under the heat lamp very well. They did remake it without much fuss. So about 5 minutes after the table got their food...the Fajitas arrive! There was excitement, sizzling sounds annnnd....no tortilla wraps or any of the 6 side items it comes with. Fun times!
Our waitress came by and when we advised her of the lacking food she glanced towards the back in what I can only describe as a "what the hell is wrong with the kitchen today!?". Our waitress was great during this whole ordeal, Kudos to Brittney.
So a few minutes later my remade Chipotle bowl comes back. It looked fine but tasted kind of meh. They remade my chipotle bowl before we got the tortillas and sides for the Fajitas. Then all the sides arrived at our table. At this point we realized we were still missing the rice and beans.
One of the other dishes was sitting under the heat lamp long enough to crisp the top layer of the rice! Value added right there...So then the manager comes by. Queue anticlimactic music.
He briefly apologizes to our table, and to me specifically for how my original food looked. I feel his apology for how my food looked was sincere, but that he just felt obligated and didn't really care that much that our table waited so long for our food. He then turns to the waitress and tells her to take 25% off my half of the bill...
So, all of the trials, failed food and heat lamp dining wasn't even enough for him to offer anything better than that. So i asked the waitress about it, and she managed to get our table some desserts :). Go her.
I don't normally write reviews, good or bad, but the amount of callousness by the manager was likely what allowed this whole situation to happen in the first place.
In all fairness none of the other tables around us seemed to have any issues with how long their orders took. An adjacent table even ordered, ate, and paid before we got our food. I understand that sometimes things fall through the cracks or some horrible fajita accident happens in the kitchen. But please let us, the dining public, know; we appreciate it.
And when you come up to our table and give us your apologies at least fake some caring, it lets us know...
Read moreUpon entering my fiance and I noticed all the staff was very young. We were seated at a booth by window like we requested and before I sat down I went to the restroom which I can say was clean. By the time I got back my fiance had already ordered the new Jack Berry mixed drink and the waitress came back with her drink and asked me what I would like and I decided to order the same. When she returned with my drink mine looked considerably darker than my fiance's and reason being was because mine was made a little bit better so my fiance sent hers back for another. When she came back she asked us if we would like to order our food and we asked about menus and she said that they were pushing ordering by phone or by the electronic device that they put on the table because of the covid. The one small menu that we had that had drinks and a few specialties listed for advertising was very dirty and actually had salsa on it and that was what we needed to scan with our phones that had the QR code on it. If we're trying to be clean to prevent the spread of covid why would that one flyer have salsa all over it and be dirty along with our electronic device on our table being very dirty also? Obviously they are not cleaning their equipment or restaurant very thoroughly. We proceeded to order and when we finally got our food it looked wonderful and smelled great as we ordered the two for $25 deal and got the Cajun shrimp and pasta and the chicken quesadilla meal deal along with fried pickles for an appetizer and one slice of cheesecake to split between two people. In my opinion the two for 25 deal should at least come with two items for dessert because you only get to choose between a slice of cheesecake or a chocolate chip cookie. I mean really for two people come on now! Anyways, our quesadilla was overcooked so it was very hard and not only that the chicken was very very dry which had the entire quesadilla dry from being overcooked also. The Cajun shrimp pasta was so bland that you couldn't even taste any Cajun in the meal and my fiance doesn't even eat much spicy foods and she couldn't taste it either. The fried pickles were good and the cheesecake that was already small of a slice and split between two people was also good. I've been eating chilies for many years and I've always had a great experience at Chili's but I will never go back to the Chili's that this review is for because it was one of my worst experiences ever in a restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly but not very bright. Personally I think they need new management to get back on track because I know Chili's can be a wonderful place to eat. I hope this...
Read moreI've always loved Chili's, especially this location, but my visit night before last was off, big time. We were seated at a booth promptly and the place was about 1/2 full. It was about 6:00 and already dark outside. The light bulbs over all the booths were so bright that my hubby and I couldn't even look across the table to each other. We asked the server to see if they could be turned down a little, but she ignored our request. After asking her again, she sent the manager over who said, "these lights have been just like this for over a year now, so you must not come in much. I can't turn them down, so do you want me to take out the light bulb?" We explained that we thought they surely could be dimmed, but if not, we would just move to a booth without a light, which we did... problem solved (for us at least). I went to the ladies room and it was filthy. Months of grime along the floors where they meet the walls, thick dust on the fixtures, not to mention all the paper towels and toilet paper on the floor, but the main thing is how filthy it was. I cringed at the thought of the kitchen! Hubby said men's room was the same. I mentioned it to the manager because there was a sign on the bathroom door that said to do so if it needed attention. I ordered the shrimp tacos and asked for a little extra of the mexican cheese that comes on them. When my dinner was sat on the table, the server said, "Oh, we are completely out of the mexican cheese. I can bring you some cheddar/Monterrey mix." Well, that would have been nice to know before she brought our dinners to the table. So, I said okay and just ate the tacos with the cheddar blend. My rice was hard, under cooked, but by this point, I just ate the black beans and went with it. I was VERY disappointed! And to top it off, when we were leaving, the manager was standing alone in the lobby, saw us walking up to leave and he turned away from us and didn't say anything. The server was nice and did a good job, but I think the problem with this place is...
